Test Guide?
When you get your invite, there will be instructions for how to access the beta test forums. There will be a full FAQ, and generally instructions on what they want us to look at in that build (at least in the early stages).
Once you're in the forums, do your best to read through the patch notes, with particular attention to Known Issues. There's no need to bug or spend a lot of time working on Known Issues, the devs usually have all the info they need to fix those bugs.
There will be sections for Feedback, and sections for Bug Reports in the forum. Be prepared to file bug reports ingame, and in the forum. Learn the difference between Objective and Subjective feedback. Don't get bogged down in coming up with alternatives for something you don't like, we're there to test what we're given. Explain why it doesn't work for you or why it does, but don't expect sweeping changes because there's a limit to how much they can do once beta starts. Save the variations on new ideas for the Chatter sections.
Once your patcher is updated and you're ready to login, get on the server and connect to the Beta Testers global channel (or whatever they name it). This is the best place to keep in touch with other players, and discuss what's going on. This is where you will often run into devs.
You're expected to play as and when you can. If they ask us to focus on a certain aspect of the game, it helps to do so, but you're not obligated to. You level up normally because they need data from the Early Middle and Late game. They will schedule and announce Level Bumps though. Not for all characters, usually just new powersets or proliferated ones. You can make whatever characters you want to try in advance of the bump (make sure to get them out of the tutorial). During a level bump, we're given capped Merits, and several million influence. With those, it's pretty easy to get what you want or need within limits. Hardest thing to come by is Salvage. Last I knew was they were looking for a way to award AE tix to help with that.

Awesome LL thanks for answering all my questions and the heads up on everything else.
That's a nice guide, LL, and I think it should make a reappearance when the GR beta boards open up.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Indeed, thanks for that info

Just by the way, Bill Z has a good guide on setting up the Test Server, but I don't have time to go hunting for it today.

Thanks for the helpful tips and the link.
I've never been interested in the test server before but with the GR beta, I'll be making the effort. It's all new to me, so I do appreciate the help.
Since I plan on taking part in GR test,I have some questions.
I've never been to test so what should I expect?
What is required on me?
How does it work do you have access to io's/so's and such to enh your toons to test the affects in the test enviroment?
How does leveling work?Do you just grind to level or does the game jump to levels?
Basically, how does it work?I do know how to download it and copy toons across from the guide links so got that covered.I looked around but didn't really see anything that explains how this works or what to expect.Me and the wife plan on going on to test to help out as much as possible to curb any unforseen bugs/problems when it hits live.Any answers/links/advice is appreciated thank you in advance.
