Dealing with singularities

Ack. Most content for my elec/nin stalker seems to be pretty standard in terms of difficulty, however, the mobs that give me the most trouble are the ones that have wormholes as pets.

The repel/slow usually prevents me from attacking reliably and even with a kb resist io, I'm still getting knocked on the ground quite a bit.
To add to that, usually the mob that has the wormhole pet is a boss or higher.

My strategy has still been to just burst the boss down as quickly as possible, but I'm throwing it out there; Anyone have any suggestions for how to deal with these guys?

Well, since Bosses generally can't pop out a [Singularity] (not to be confused with [Wormhole]) until after they see you... the best bet as a Stalker is to make sure you kill the boss first.

And as far as the KB goes, I believe the actual effect imparted by a Singularity is Repel... which is not ameliorated by -KB IOs.

You will need at least 5 points (or 9, I don't remember) of knockback protection to stop the KB from a Singularity, so one -KB IO won't be enough and you'll need two or three. Best bet with dealing with them once they're up, though, is to just break line of sight and try to take out the mob that summoned it once they're separated.

Placate the Singy, break LoS with the boss, and kill him as he runs around the corner.

BU + AS (boss) + Placate (singularity, if summoned; boss, if not) + Thunder Strike, then LRod next to the boss again to finish them off. The repel doesn't matter for the last two attacks and the demoralize effect and Placate keeps the Singularity from hitting you with slows/KU/etc.

In short (and again), just burst them down.

One other thing: Getting hit with the Hold gives you 10s of knockback protection.

ahh, my strategy is clear now. Get hit with the hold, to avoid the kb =P

This is the method, yes.

You can do it almost as well without placating the Sing. They tend to trail after their caster, so if the Singy is blocking you just break LoS and make 'em move. Then you can usually get a pretty clear shot at your target.
