Windows 7 64-Bit says YOU NEED DIRECTX 8...But

Blarg. I tried using some older drivers for my card and that didn't work either. I've tried everything that I could think of, and have tried everything y'all threw at me. This is frustrating.

Hah! I got it working for good this time. It appears it WAS something simple, however I decided to revert back to factory settings. After that I VERY carefully applied all drivers, including BIOS and other hardware, popped on the directx runtime install, windows updated, etc. It runs flawlessly now and I have been able to start the game more than once, even after restarting (just to make sure).

So... yeah. Windows 7 isnt glitchy, CoH isnt glitchy.

Lesson Learned: Be more careful with drivers.

I am having the same error message, but I am running Windows XP SP3 32bit. I did upgrade to the CA Internet Security 2010 last night. That is about the only thing that is new. I was able to play last night, but when I got up today and tried getting on I couldn't.

Ok, so now I've allowed CoH and Updater access in the CA Firewall. I have upgraded to the latest video and audio drivers. I have updated my chipset. I tried downgrading DirectX to 8.1. Then I brought it back up to 9.0b. It will not load 9.0c for some reason now.
And... CoH still won't load up.
CoH Helper won't copy to the clipboard now some for some reason.

My brother is having this same exact problem but he's running windows XP. I've run updates on all the drivers but I am still getting the same error messages. Any suggestions?
