Physical Perfection vs. Health

My BS/Shield scrapper needs a little more endurance recovery. I'm thinking about rearranging things so that he has Physical Perfection but drops Health. I don't think I can get both. How much +regen am I losing and is this a bad idea?

Thanks for any help!

This. You should rather drop Swift or Hurdle (definitely Swift if you have Combat Jumping).

And to answer your question, you'd lose 20-40% Regen depending on how well your Health is slotted. This is assuming you will copy the exact slotting of Health into Physical Perfection.

Well I usually take Swift on every character as I find moving without it unbearably slow. I need Combat Jumping for defense, unless I gather up about 75 million for some IO set bonuses to cover the loss. Does anyone know how base run speed at 50 compares to base fun speed plus swift at level 6? Maybe I could stand to drop Swift on a 50.

Thanks for the help so far, guys!

combat jumping/hurdle is faster then swift if you get used to hopping where you go. and if you do like me, and bind your travel power to a button, i use "q" myself, it's EASY to toggle on and off quickly as your jumping around your mission.

I'm a sticker for speed myself, and i rarely take swift at all unless my guys a flyer. It's not worth it, IMO.

I tried the Hurdle + CJ route myself for a while, but I can't stand the bunny hop. So now I usually take Swift and CJ; CJ for the extra height and the defense and LotG mule. I think the only character who uses Hurdle + CJ is Iron Mantis, and that's a concept thing.

Plus I'm lazy, so my target + follow bind gets me to the next enemy with one keystroke, and Swift gets me there faster without needing to hop and press the space bar.

I totally respect the advice though. If you can get used to the bunny hopping every where Hurdle + CJ makes more tactical sense. I just find it interesting to see the divergent play styles.

I've done the same. I have Hurdle + Combat Jumping on most characters. In my case, I bound the switch between Combat Jumping and Super Jump to the "E" key. Switching is second nature.

While I loves me some bunny hopping, it's a lot to get used to, particularly indoors, and some people simply hate it, to which I can only say "fair enough". Swift isn't a bad alternative, and is probably better for the small repositionings you tend to make during combat. But I'd probably only take one or the other unless I'm swimming in choices, and I'm never swimming in choices.

For the OP, I don't know how you would drop Health in order to get Physical Perfection, unless you had originally decided to get all four powers in the Fitness Pool. (This is assuming that you are still keeping Stamina, which is seen as a must on most characters, particularly on a BD/SD).

For me, I'd rather keep Health over Swift or Hurdle for the little extra +regen rather than the extra speed.

As for the Swift vs Hurdle decision, I think it would depend on that character's particular travel power picks. On one scrapper, I have Super Speed + Combat Jumping, so getting Hurdle helps for the extra vertical movement. On another, I have Combat Jumping + Super Jump, so I get Swift to cover the running "horizontal" movement for times when hopping isn't easy, such as cavern and low ceiling building missions.

IF you don't mind, how do you do a switch bind? I bind my travel to one key, and either sprint or combatjumping, to another, usually e. Being able to bind 2 movement powers to a single key would free me one up...(I use alot of binds. LOL)

/bind f "powexecname Super Jump$$powexecname Combat Jumping"

Is what I use. Obviously, I use f as my travel bind for leapers. The parsing makes the 2nd power come on first, so if you have neither toggle on and you press f, CJ will activate first, then it'll toggle bet. CJ & SJ.

And yeah, CJ + Hurdle ftw. The only toons I take Swift on are Fliers, my Stone tank and those w/a Quickness-like power. Quickness (LR) + Swift + Sprint is hard to beat.

Somewhat related to the OP's question, for maximum endurance benifit... slot your numina's and miracle uniques in PP instead of health so you can add +endurance enhancements. Enhancements add to the bonus from those 2 IOs. It's complicated to explain why... if the playerbase even understands it... but we know that they do.
