Buff caps and IOs

I was just wondering.. I know for example that the damage buff cap for, say, Blasters is 500%. Does that 500% include the possible 100% buff from slotting damage IOs in a power? Or does it stack with the 500% buff resulting in an actual 600% Buff to base damage? Same with Recharge buffs and Recharge IOs..
Any help appreciated

Yes. It also includes the 100% you start with.

Yes, the recharge cap includes your recharge slotting. However, unlike damage, you start at 0%, not at 100% (assuming you use the "1 / 1 + Rech%" equation for recharge; the "1 + " is effectively your base 100%)

Actually... yes and no. If you monitor damage buffs on your blaster it caps at 400% but doesn't include your enhancements. So with 0% enhancement, even with 500% buffs, you only get +400% total. So to say it's 500% either false or incomplete, depending how you look at it.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

hmm. I get what you mean, but got me kinda lost in there. So you're saying that the 400% buff doesn't include the possible 100% from enhancements?

Combat Monitor monitors buff caps only.

It doesn't include the base 100% (you originally do 100% of your base damage, no matter what, before buffs, enhancements, and/or debuffs. A 50 damage attack does 100% of 50 damage, plus whatever else % is applied.)

Blasters cap at 400 percentage points of buff. You cap at 500% damage total, since you have 100% at the start.

Enhancements are a whole different animal. They're a different type of boost over what +DMG does.

For an easier comparison, just open up your combat attributes and monitor Damage Bonus. No amount of basic enhancement slotting will make that anything but 0.00%. But if you do a set bonus that gives +3%, or use BU, it increases.

A Blaster's cap is 500%, which includes the base 100%. So your Blaster won't top out until your damage bonus reads 400.00% (and turns blue to indicate it's at the cap). This is completely independent of enhancement damage.

EDIT: Sc00ped by Agge!

Enhancement damage is counted in the buff category. 3 SOs = 95%, so you're now at 195% damage.

No, it's not. Enhancements contribute towards the buff cap.

Really? So assuming he has enhancements, a Blaster at +350% does the same damage as a Blaster at +400%, even though his combat attributes will change and not show as such? If true, I've played 3.5 years without knowing that. vv

Wow. Now I fully understand. Thank you all for the replies. It has been very useful. I've been trying to come up with suggested builds for a 8 Fire/Rad controller super team. It's amazing what 8 simultaneous AMs will do to the team! We most probably won't need a single set in our powers lmao. Unless we're planning on having softcapped defences in all positionals as opposed to softcapped S/L (using Rock Armor) plus 38% global defences to everything else (everyone has Maneuvers and combat jumping/hover).

Yes (assuming the enhancements give 50% or more to damage, of course )
