Name that song (and artist)

I suppose you can call this a forum game, but I don't want to play it with everyone, just us.

Here are the rules, you type in a verse (or a bar) from a song, and the next person names the song and the artist, then provides a verse of their own (any genre, not too obscure though).

I'll go first:

You're a very sexy girl
That's very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights
But you won't get them for free

Name that song (and artist)!

Guns n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle

And for mine:
As I was a goin' over the far famed Kerry mountains
I met with captain Farrell and his money he was counting
I first produced my pistol and I then produced my rapier
Saying "Stand and deliver" for he were a bold deceiver

Name that song and artist!

OH SNAP!! 69 posts! "brown chicken brown cow"

hahaha...Okay, yes, the Pogues DID cover the song; however, I was referring to Metallica :-)

Originally it was The Dubliners though

Eric B. & Rakim - Microphone Fiend

I know that I can help you
I just don't ******* want to
And the feeling is stronger by the day
Say that I'm selfish
But I know you need this
And I'm just so sick of the chase

Wizard of Oz.
By any number of people who've recorded it

Well,I know one night together
Won't make up for ten apart
But I'm steady as rain
Nothing ever changes in my heart

Throw off the covers
Open the windows
I don't care what we do
I've been standing for days
Now I get to fall down with you

Awww, I'm sorry ma petite femme. It was Somewhere Over the Rainbow, originally sung by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz.

Poor little monkey.

I went to cheat because I wanted to put a song on here, then I realized this is the song you made me listen to earlier.....but then I couldn't remember the name so I cheated anyway.

Anyway, it's: Head Over Heals by Blue Rodeo

MY TURN:

I've been really tryin', baby
Tryin' to hold back this feelin' for so long
And if you feel like I feel, baby
Then come on, oh, come on
Whoo, let's get it on
Ah, babe, let's get it on
Let's love, baby
Let's get it on, sugar
Let's get it on

Marvin Gaye, Let's Get it On

My turn:

You and I long to live like wind upon the water
If we close our eyes we'll maybe realize
There's more to life than what we have known
And I can't believe I've spent so long
Living lies I knew were wrong inside
I've just begun to see the light
Long ago there was a dream, had to make a choice or two
Leaving all I loved behind for what nobody knew
Stepped out on the stage
A life under lights and judging eyes
Now the applause has died and I can dream again...

Huron: "...with Coffee primary / Attitude secondary"
Charnage: "Please. Think of the poor defenseless desks."

"The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace. It failed... In the year of the Praetorian War, it became something greater... our last, best hope for victory."
