Character creator background

Does anyone know if it is possible to switch out the existing background of the character creator for another image? I am consistently stymied by the way the image goes dark when I attempt to do a screen capture.

You should be able to use the CoH Splasher to replace the Costume Creator screen. (It'll also replace your character select screen IIRC.)

Failing that, you could try lightening your background with the buttons on the left/right of your Zoom button on the default creator.

If all you're getting though is a blank black field, I don't think that had anything to do with your contract or brightness settings. I have that problem, but I have no idea what causes it.

You say as if you weren't the one who put it together for me.

You have to tab out of the character generator screen to get a screenshot pasted. Otherwise all it's taking a picture of is nothing. Nothing's "active" on the screen as far as printscreen is concerned. Unless you're talking about a vista paste issue... Not sure what you mean by "image goes dark".

The image that I capture using PrintScreen is darker than the actual image in the character creator. I have installed PSP which has tools to clear this up once I navigate my way around the learning curve.

I always had that problem (before I started getting black squares of doom), I just adjusted my Gamma for when taking Screenshots, and that seemed to work fine.

Do you mean adjust after you take them? Because adjusting the gamma in the game doesn't adjust the screenshots at all. Unless that changed in the last year or so? It's never done that.

And yes, PSP is an awesome program (well, up until version 9+) so you're set there. I use version 8, it's very, very easy and fun to use. All my art's composed on it. I'm finally learning layers lol after 8 or more years of having the programs...

 Perhaps it was just perception. I recall thinking that it worked better that way.

It doesn't. Adjusting the gamma setting in game is not going to affect the screenshot or print screen capture, sadly.

I never used Paint Shop Pro, as I've always had Photoshop. I do hear good things about GIMP though since its free.
