Claws/SR am I missing a trick or two ?

I rolled a claws / sr a couple of weeks ago and all I can say is I am absolutely loving the power combination and the way it plays. This will likely be my first brute to 50.

I think I have the build I would like to work towards having but I have to wonder am I missing something ?

I have all three positions softcapped.
I have 112.5% global recharge
and I am regenerating 28.6 HP/S

The thing is I still have 2 slots unplaced and I keep wondering have I completely missed what I should be building for ?

I have seen posts saying that I should shoot for aid/self on sr. I also have no patron pools.

Anyway here is my build any commentary is appreciated.

It is a good build but its is extremly expensive. Well over 2 billion infamy. I'm not really sure why you would need that much recharge.
I do have an Io'd out lvl 50 dm/sr brute(my name sake) with 3 purple sets...but io'd him over a year ago when purples were much much cheaper. If i were building him today...i would skip the purples. They just are not worth 200 mil plus for just 1 enchancement.
My suggestions for bonus priority in order are def(all 3 positional), rec bonus, recharge, and regen.
I did not take nor do i feel the need for the health pool on my /sr brute. But DM is my primary and it has a heal.I would still skip it though. For patron i took soul mastery...gloom is a very good attack....i had darkest night but i respeced out of it. Its a good power but a huge end hog.

On another topic...i am very curious as to how many people actually follow through with these uber expensive builds. Over the last couple of years i have seen countless planned builds on these forums that cost billions of infamy and i have a feeling very very few realize how hard it can be to get all these IO's and even less stick to the build.
I do IO out my toons but for the most part...i try and go cheap. My DM/SR was very expensive to build and took quite some time...and with the price of purples now...i doubt i will ever go that way again.
I'm just kinda curious.

Drop the 53% Damage IO from Hecatomb, Armageddon, and Apocalypse. Add the respective % Damage procs from each set. A bit of math: 33%*107 equals 35 average damage per proc, which is FAR higher than the paltry 9% damage buff yields in every situation here.

I'd also use Tough as more than an IO mule-- throw the two extra slots there and make that a viable power. It stacks marvelously with the passive resistances.

My impression is that a good deal of players have many builds like this in their stable. My self being one of them.

I know alot people do have these uber builds in their stable. It can be alot of fun and challenging to get keep playing a toon for maximum uberness. My question is ....how many people that post these crazy expensive builds on toons they just started leveling or plan on leveling actually follow through. My gut tells me...not many.

Well blueside I have 2 that are this heavily built out. I have an Arch/Ment that is running 170% global recharge. I also have a fire/ment that I have ranged capped with about 40% global. As I said this is the build I would like to work towards. I already have the uniques I need for this and as soon as I get to 50 will have them slotted.

To Julius

Thanks, that should give a nice bit on the damage.

When I look over all the alts I have and all the Inf/Imf invested in their separate builds, I could easily have two or three purpled out builds blue side and one red side. That's without farming for purple drops or grinding merits. I don't have those as I don't take the time to maximize my market slots to make more or place lower bids and wait. And because I jump from alt to alt I'd rather have a lot of builds that are above average than a few that elite. Personal preference is going to mean some people are going to focus on individual alts and always want to make them better.

I believe that it's not as many as it seems too. Some people just love playing with Mids. Some people assume, like I do, that anyone looking for advice on how to IO set a build is, talking about their main or one of.

This is almost exactly what i do. Besides my one and only "purpled out" toon all my other toons are somewhat cheap but effective builds.
Due to lack of level 50 content...i do not play my lvl 50 toons that often. I don't pvp really either so i just kinda like to enjoy my toon to lvl 50 and then move on to my next creation.
I sometimes think that alot of people focus too much on Io's and farming and forget that this game is supposed to be fun. I am not an anti farmer but doing the same mission over and over again just isnt that fun to me. I do enjoy doing Tf's though with my lvl 50 toons.

Fun varies from player to player.
I use to enjoy leveling alts from1-50 and then they all kinda became redundant. Now I kinda just think of a combo thats looks good to play, plan out a build on mids, level it up ti'll I get the jump pack and PL the craps out of it.

I got 4 scrappers that's worth 1 bill + each soon to be 5.
My claws/sr is probably around 4-5 bill. My fire/sd is probably around 3 bill. And yes they all get the same ammount of playing time.
