This, at the very least, allows the player to redeem some value from the "old" enhancement . . .
i'm eh on that, as you can use io's and never have them go old. of course you could always do a respec to get rid of all the old so's you have to get value for them.

That's exactly why you can't do that - because the designers don't want you casually recouping that value.

I beleive Captain Photon is correct, what i would very much like to see for enhancements is an EASY button go to the store and click "upgrade" and all the enhancements you currently have get upgraded if possible, so if you were level 43,and upgraded you would be upgraded to the 45 class enhancements, empty slots would remain as such, and i would think it would be made to only effect TO's DO's and SO's.

Probably a million reason's they have not done this, though, and usually it only takes one.

As if the farmers and power levelers didn't make enough influence doing what they do. No, the system works fine as is.

Huh. I like that, actually. It makes those staffers at the enhancement stores make a bit more sense. I mean, that guy at the Parts counter at Cooke's Electronics in Blyde Square must have helped millions of Tech heroes slot up their powers by now, you'd think he'd at least be able to offer some useful suggestions, not just stand there and (let's say) let a Science hero mistakenly buy a whole basketful of Illumination Grenades. This suggestion would make them function a bit like those "tech expert" sales guys at electronics stores, who (ideally - please reserve real-world-example-based scoffing) can help you figure out which TV you need, not just sell you a random one.

It would need a confirmation dialogue, of course, in which the salesman showed you the list of things he recommended and you could change, accept, or deny his suggested list.

Not a bad idea, but needs work. I would suppose such a solution would still be based on influence. If someone didn't have enough influence to do the full upgrade then what? What happens if I want to upgrade from DO to SO enhancements? You would still need some form of direct user interation in those cases. Perhaps I also just got stamina and have decided I don't need the endurance reducers in some powers and want to swap those out for rechange instead.
