Herocon news: quick-switch characters, email inf/items

Since these two items come up on this forum with great regularity, I figured it was appropriate to relay a couple of Marcian Tobay's tweets from Herocon:

I'm "Meh" on both of these items, personally. I hope that the rest of you like these things though.
1) Able to mail $Inf/items to yourself.
This has been occasionally requested by a few, vocal posters.
But:
A) You can already transfer a few different ways.
B) Every character in this game can easily be financially self-sufficient, unlike certain other games where this feature is more needed.
So I qualify this as a minor QoL. Will there be a 'postage fee' in return for the safety factor? Unknown, but I'm not concerned.

2) Don't have to log in/out to switch characters.
*shrug*
This be will convienient for me. Niether my wife nor kids would delete my characters while I'm AFK so I didn't need the security of the login screen anyway.
For those folks with roomates, siblings, etc., I don't know. Perhaps this will be an optional setting, in which case, cool.

So you won't have to log out to switch characters. But I'm fairly certain that the 30 second countdown will remain. After all, that's in place to keep people from quick logging in order to avoid a trip to the hospital or a PvP defeat.

So the only real difference will be that you don't have to type in your password and hit enter. That takes less than a second unless your password consists of a mixture of numbers, letters, and other characters. You will still have to select a server unless the option is only to switch between characters on the same server.

I have never cared about the delay and having to log back in so it doesn't affect me either way. But I'm guessing that those who are eager to see this new feature will be disappointed. Either that or there won't be a 30 second countdown in which case the PvPers will start screaming about it making earning any rep impossible.

Good to see the ability to mail stuff to yourself is on the table. This should have been added years ago.

The fact that you can jump through hoops to transfer stuff and characters can easily be self supporting isn't relevant.
