Daybreaker Alpha

A quick, strictly amateur sketch of Caemgen's Daybreaker Alpha. Hardly up to par with the "real" artists (I don't say this to get a "No, it looks great!" but because I'm not a blind man huffing paint) but it's probably the first thing I've actually tried to seriously draw in the last 5-10 years. Just a way to say thank you for your generousity on the forum, not just in giving away the art but in running contests which have been fun and helped make the forum an enjoyable place.

There's a gajillion things I can find wrong but I suppose I shouldn't trash talk my own art that I'm givin' ya

You know, I WILL say that I used other artwork of Daybreaker Alpha as my references, totally forgetting that you posted REAL references in your Contest #3 thread. Oy vey....

That is great!

No, really!!

Sure, maybe not professional artist great but in many, many ways it's better because of that. It's not the easiest thing to put your work out there for all to see and the fact that you did for me means a lot...

I am impressed by the detail of it, too. The cables/wires showing looks great.

Thank you for this. Truly. I wish I could express my gratitude better but I have always sucked at accepting gifts and compliments and never know what to say... The not knowing what to say is part of why I hate getting stuff. lol...

Ok, starting to babble now... So thank you and now I'm going to go throw this up on my DA page before I babble forever.

For a person who seldom draws this is pretty good. and a very sweet thing to do for a very nice person

A pic doesn't need to be "pro" to be good. You did very good all things
considered and I particularily like the cabling detail.

A fine piece and the sentiment behind it, even finer.

Gratz Camegen on another cool gift art (do I sense a trend here? ) and
Thank you Jophiel for doing your part in making this the best part of the forums.

I think you did a great job Jophiel, "especially" for not having drawn in such a long time! I know, I'm in the same boat. All the costume pieces are totally discernable and the shading is good too! Also a gift such as this is a wonderful thing! Well done!

I am curious as to what you used to draw this, direct to an art program or scanned in pencils. Thanks for sharing!

No. 2 pencil drawn over with a blue needle-tip office pen. Fear my mighty arsenal of artistic tools
