Halloween Contest!

perhaps you ought to expand the entries to the undead fruits veggies and gourds that can be found...i can prolly get a apples and fingers carved up...*looks at fingers* meh, deys not important...

oh for those of us artfully challenged can we request help? Cause i got this idea for a suicide stick figure (http://media.photobucket.com/image/s...piece-king.jpg kinda like a suicide king in a deck of cards)wrapped around an apple but...my stick figure is no good, his anatomy is a bit broke. so yeah...

Still need to get a pumpkin maybe ill do that this weekend.

I don't care if you don't carve the pumpkin as long as you're involved somehow. It should be your idea, or your pumpkin, or something.

And it doesn't have to be a pumpkin. It can be whatever, so long as it ends up a reasonable facsimile of a jack o lantern.

I know but i always carve a pumpkin. Started when i was 2 and haven't stopped yet.

Sick today so couldnt get a pumpkin might just be lazy and do it with an apple if i dont get beter.

I was going to use my pumpkin from last year, but I went out front to take a picture, and it's not doing so well. Must be those Arizona summers.

I'm at work. Bored. I got to doodling and eventually it turned into what is below. Unfortunately I am limited by my poor skills and lack of many art type supplies at work so this is the best I can do for now...

If the pic comes out too poorly I will scan and re upload once home but I'm still enjoying playing with new iPhone so figured I would snap a pic and figure out how to upload to photobucket

also, I know this doesn't quite qualify for the contest (but I would seriously risk digits if I tried to carve a pumpkin) so just consider it a meager thank you for the contest... Plus I couldn't think of anywhere else to post it

Pfft, it's not an entry. 1) it's not a Jack-o-Lantern but rather a poor drawing of one... Ok, three. 2) if it was an entry I would lose to whatever last minute carver out there does enter and I hate losing. 3) I didn't provide a description of my concept as required. (trying to suck up by using Foo's avatar and the Soul Kitten hardly seems like winning concept material...)

but hopefully it will spur those who aren't risking life and limb by carving into doing so!

Yay i'm done. Okay for mine i went with kind of a two face thing were the pumpkin had really two faces, I could do this because it was a huge pumpkin. I made one side as a happy fellow with big eyes and a nice happy face. The other side I made "evil". He has evil looking face and all . He is also a vampire because it sounded good at the time. Well here the pics The eye brows are cuts not drawn on, it kind of looks that way in photo.

"Headless Horseman rides again"

Nothing screams "Halloween" like the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow throwing a flaming Jack-o-Lantern. This took me a little over 2 hours to complete from cutting the top off/gutting it to lighting it and snapping a few pictures. This is the first pumpkin I've carved in well over 10 years.. Sorry for the grainy pictures.

1st pumpkin in 10 years and Mystic F comes up with that? They are a friggin pumpkin carving savant!!! Just give them the prize now. Seriously.

So foo are guides allowed? Found the same designed online so it technically was not his idea sorry to be the huge downer but it says 2007 Just needed to ask. Still it has a cool look to it and i know it still takes a lot of effort to carve it.

I dont see a problem with a guide, MF did it slightly different and still did it all himself. hell foo said it was alright to get help didnt he?
