Shardtober 09: Faathim Oct. 24-25

Of the four known Shard Realm, the Storm Palace presides over a vast and dark sunless sky... There is madness in these Shadows. A dark threat, a Storm of unspeakable Evil threatening to break free into the Shard Realms and into our own world...

Welcome to Shard TF Number 4, the FINAL BATTLE! Our contact Faathim the Kind invites you to his humble Chantry abode to join the festivities as the zombies explode across the city. So we'll try to make this quick so you can get back to getting Rocks.

The rules:
1) Full 8-player team is needed to start. And given the threat faced on the final mission, it helps to keep that full team together to the bitter end. And the minimum level is 45, with the cap at 50 (good thing for Auto SK, we no longer have to worry about balancing the SKs to Mentors).

2) Team balance is a must: Tankers to control God aggro; Defenders and Controllers with debuffs to weaken God buffage; Blasters and Scrappers to inflict the damage needed to drop God into the bright void. Khleds can join in as well.
The AV at the end is one of the toughest to face in-game: the teams seriously need at least one Tanker to maintain aggro and at least one Defender/Controller with serious Debuffing to assist in weakening Lanaruu.

3) Travel powers used to require at least one teammate with Fly/Teleport + Recall Friend. With temp Jetpacks now sold in all shard realms, this is optional (but still helpful). Also, it helps to have Ouroborous ports available for the missions that head back into the city proper. There's at least one mission I remember that involves getting to a Board Train menu option...

4) The length of this TF isn't too long, on a well-prepared team with fast movers it can be done under 3 hours. On a Witty-led team, well I never move that all fast (I savor the TFs where I can) so expect it to be under 3.5 hours.

5) Given that Hero Con is taking place this same weekend, I would love it if somehow we can get one or more players attending the Con to get on the game and demonstrate the True Meaning of Shardtober to all (and the Meaning is... Earning Inf, XP, Prestige, and the fond hope of scoring a Purple Recipe drop!!! YES!)

To ensure we get the teams up and going ASAP each day, this means getting sign-up sheets. Two days this weekend, obviously: one run for those who can play Saturday, one run for Sunday. I will like to host the Sunday (10/25) afternoon run, and I would like to have someone volunteer to host the Saturday (10/24) again starting at your best available time. As this is a relatively short TF, start time can be later in the day - late afternoon, early evening, well into evening itself. NOTE: Please keep track of Eastern (EST), Central, Mountain and Pacific (PST) time zones! Luckily, this time the Bucs' home game is in London and I'm not planning on tuning in to what will be a huge debacle... :/

The TF itself starts in the Chantry (the first 4-5 missions are there), so please log in there for the team gatherings.

One more thing: there's sometimes been a buggy door halfway through the TF. I know, it's not something to advert, but do be aware that the TF can get hit with a delay at some point. Patience, above all, is a Virtue... ("C'mon, Posi! ANSWER THE PHONE!!!")

Where: Chantry, the contact is Faathim himself inside the Chantry (only the team leader needs to be inside the Chantry, which is tricky to enter. Teams can wait outside, preferably on the eastern edge of the map as the first few door missions seem to be over there).
Levels required: Levels 45 - 50. Auto SK'ed to whomever is team captain at the moment (would help to get a good number of 50s to provide backup in case team captain DC's).
Team needed: Full count of 8 to even start. BIG AV at end, one of the hardest, so try to keep the team together to the dark end.
Villain sets: Rularuu, Circle of Thorns, Rikti, Malta and Artemis, Praetorians
Length: Tons of door missions! HUNDREDS! YOU'LL NEVER FIN... cough. It's about 18 door missions long.

For the Saturday 10/24 TF, please let me have a volunteer for team leader. By this point there's been a regular team forming this group, around Cherry 2000. Hope that can continue. Danke.

Dang it! I would sign up, but my only 50 right now is a blaster, and you've already got enough of those, Witty. Drat. I missed this one last year too, because I forgot what time it was running. I will definitely be a backup if someone can't make it.

If there's interest, though, I'd also be willing to put together a group earlier in the day on Saturday, say maybe 4 or 5 pm EST. Saturdays are always better for me, and the regular Saturday team is running awfully late on this side of the country. If there's any interest in that, please let me know.
