It would take approximately 5 hours to get there. I highly doubt I could convince Nedia to take that trip but I'll give it a shot lol.

You need to be more persistent.
Also, get ready for sticker shock.

Technically what you are being told is true.
However, unless things have changed, they do provide boxes for shipping, but you need to make arrangements with one of the 3rd party shipping outfits to do the actual shipping. One of these two groups provides the dry ice, I don't know which, but what matters is one does.

So, if you REALLY want Fred's, here's how I recall doing it. When I called, I let them know I wanted to get some Fred's shipped to some friends out of state. I was told that they don't ship, but that they can provide boxes for shipping the Fred's (I think there's just one size & since shipping is so costly, I ordered as many steaks as would fit in the box to make it worthwhile) & then I would have to make the arrangements for shipping myself. I asked if there was a shipping outfit they could recommend, or had worked with in the past & was given the number to one. I then ordered the steaks for pickup by the named outfit. I then called up the number provided (wish I could provide the name & number but since I wasn't expecting to repeat, I wasn't good about keeping the information.) They laid out the pricing, I agreed to it, paid by credit card & they took care of the rest.

FYI there are three grades for Fred's.
I forget what they call them, but I will refer to them as regular, premium, & Kobe. I got a Kobe Fred's for a friend's birthday (it was some milestone, or at least that's what I told myself to justify the expense) & OMG!!! If you thought regular Fred's was awesome... Kobe Fred's...

*drools*

*shakes self out of trance*

*cleans self up*

That said, it's also pretty darn pricey & definitely something to be saved for very special occasions.

??? For clarification, the description above was what I did for the first get-together, and was provided to help you self-procure whenever the occasion calls for it. I haven't shipped anything, and want to make sure there's no disappointment over a misunderstanding (which is hopefully on my part, being a lunk-head & all.)

As for providing the information, I'm glad to do it, as it would be a shame for folks not be be able to get Fred's if they REALLY want it.

Dry ice shipping is incredibly expensive cause it's considered a hazerdous material (for good reason). An improperly packaged dryice container can cause an explosion.......Fedex wouldn't ship for Temple University for a few years due to a package containing HIV infected blood being packaged wrong and blowing up in their truck. So yeah..... usually around $70 min for dryice shipping

Explains why Schaub's doesn't want the headache!

Wish I could be there, but the whole "poor college student" and "working crazy holiday hours" situations are going to get in the way. =/

For providing information. I got it. I'm just really a fan of meat.

Lornac and I will be attending, what can we bring?

Something has come up, and as of now Meg will not be attending the Thanksgiving Party. Plans for his holding a Justice Ohio Christmas Gathering are also on hold for the time being.

Changes to any of these arrangements will be posted here or in a new thread.

Apologies in advance, and thanks for your understanding.

I really need to read the forums more... I just saw this thread and after seeing how much fun Hero-Con was and how represented Justice was, I really wish I could attend your event this year but I am scheduled to work.

With that being said, I intend to do whatever I need to make it to Hero-Con next year and maybe the Thanksgiving event also, since I live in Ohio.

Anything you'd like, or nothing. We don't require you to bring anything but yourselves.

But we won't oppose if you have some nom-nommish dish to share!
