AR... Suggestion
Would it be too much to ask to remove redraw only from secondary power set build ups.
It drives me crazy the amount of seconds I lose of build up to weapon redraw, when I KNOW the character can do the animation while holding the weapon with one hand out to the side. Likely there's some problem, like activating your second set sets you into a completely different animation category that requires your weapon match it (or it's effect) but it really is a pain, since it reminds you of the problem every time you try to alpha with the rest of the team. |

It would be nice, but personally I'd liek to AR/Dev improved by giving them an option to fire Web/Smoke grenades from the rifle.
A more thematic way to solve the problem would be to put Build Up in the primary and Aim in the secondary. This would, however, make AR/ combos worse rather than better. Unless the developers would be willing to combine the effects of Flame Thrower and Ignite. Replace Flame Thrower with Build Up and make Ignite an area targetted power that leaves a burn patch where it is targetted but still does it's usual cone type flame thrower damage on top of it

See, as far as I can gather, there are two things that flamethrowers do.
Spew flames that make enemies very hot (they must be they seem to be in pain) or
Spew illusory flames which buys you time to toss a tiny incendiary wherever you feel.

So let me get this straight. You believe it would somehow be thematic, if when firing a flamethrower for 4 seconds into a group of enemies, that things caught on fire, and that there was no chance you could do this without setting anything on fire at all?

You ever SEEN a flamethrower work?
You fire it. Literally. Things burn. The ground burns, trees burn, people burn, hell walls burn.
Combining that into one would be MUCH better than the current, end-nomming creature we have atm.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I forgot sarcasm doesn't work on the internet, I also forgot I'm not capable of conveying tone or humor at 4:30 in the morning in anyway...
But to set the tables straight, yes, I too would like to see the flamethrower set everything on the death end of my gun on fire... I mean it's a flamethrower.
(Even if the power was left unchanged the animation for lighting the ground on fire in a patch, I would think, would be like the arsonists molotov or some sort of incendiary grenade.)
-but how often have the devs just flatout removed a power? I'm not even totally sure it would be possible to do, I mean would that just force the entire population of AR's to respec on the spot? slotting would be impossible if it wasnt done that way.
*yes, I have seen flamethrowers in action, both in the movies, and at military exhibitions.*

Yeah, I understand the problem of damn late/damn early posting, and what it can make you sound like. Too well ^^;
But yeah, it probably would cause a headache or two, but if it was an overall buff, would people be that pissed?
Heh, silly me, some people naturally would be. Fact: You can't please everyone.
