Any idea how they made these?
Demo-editing by the looks of it. Pretty darn complex to get something like that done, but all text based.
That first video...thats genius, that is. I LOVE the end scene...

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

what's the gun used in that first one? Is it a Malta sapper gun?
Yep, lots and lots of demo editing. Same way I did my rikti roll.

And how I make most of my videos. It can be time-consuming, but you can create some really sweet stuff that way.
And yes, that's the Malta Sapper gun.

Yes, that first video was awesome. And they did use demoediting.
You can get video with the commands in game "/demorecord" and "/demostop". This makes a text file that you can playback and edit.
There are a few software programs available that will take footage while in game. The two most used (I think) are GameCam and FRAPS. I believe they have free downloadable, workable demo versions.
It has been years since I have worked with this, but as well as I can recall, those are the two main ways of getting the video.
You can put it all together using Microsoft's own Moviemaker for free or buy any one of a slew of better video editing software.
I left this very general as I am sure there is a thread devoted to the making of videos and the nuts and bolts of it. (I just haven't had time to look for it yet .)
I hope that helps a little bit.

Demo edits for the win! There are some programs out there (like mine and Balshere's) that can help with the seriously tedious parts but you'll probably still be doing a lot of the work in Windows Notepad.
(They're good for neat little screenshots, too, and it doesn't take nearly as much work to set those up.)
After poking about some more here, I see Dark Respite is really creative. I was curious what software you use to edit the films with, because it sure isn't movie maker! LOL
I look forward to seeing people's movies as I see in my future a weekend or two of YouTube viewing. I'll start popping the corn now to get ready. It is good to see so many people making videos now. It is fun, isn't it?

Thanks for the info, Michelle. I am in the process of getting some vid editing software and was curious. I like your videos.
I have an idea for a music video for a SG I'm in, but I'm not sure how or what program people use to make videos like this and how they managed to add characters and such to them. Any ideas?
