Problems with Grounded?

Hmm the only question I have is are you on the ground at all times? Since it only works while you are on the ground I'd hazard a guess that the game isn't recognizing you as being on the ground and thus no protection.

As far as the part about LR kb'ing you, I'd not be so sure. I have a Rad/Son def that I use in PvP and in his PvP build he has 37kb protection counting accro. With that build he still has yet to be kb'd by anything I've run across while playing him and that includes LR.

has anyone experienced any problems with thier electric tanks grounded not working correctly?
((No, but my teen rad/rad defender is going to be grounded for using her powers on a fellow student if that makes your tank feel any better. ))

interested in seeing what you had to nerf to get that kinda KB protection, and why you would do it. I tried it up to about a 25-27 range in my fire tanker before i was simply unwilling to nerf it any further. if you have to put that much KB protection into something then it's just not worth it.

On a side note, i love my fire tanker the bestestest. 16 KB protection works just as good as 27 did against recluse, so thats what i run it with. It's just sad that the Elec Tank is starting to show signs of being a flopping mess against Aeon, LR and Dabolique.

Here's a thread I made for my Mind/Therm build http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=192563. It is similar to the Rad/Son in slotting except I took Leadership instead of Concealment. The only reason I had to slot so much kb is because of how much kb protection gets diminished in PvP.

As far as the build nerfing goes, I did have to make some sacrifices to get where I wanted it but the Mind/Therm I didn't. Actually I could probablly get more kb protection in that build since I had slots to spare and just started slotting sets to get extra bonuses.

Grounded, on Brutes at least, used to shut off when one was standing on less than perfectly flat surfaces. It has been fixed since then for Brutes, and Stalkers seem to use the correct version as well, but it seems likely that the Tanker version of Grounded is operating according to the older style. Possibly the Scrapper version as well, but I haven't noticed any problems with mine yet.

Also, during the peak of the animation for Lightning Rod, you're far enough from the ground apparently for Grounded to fail. It shouldn't be a problem, but some enemies have an uncanny instinct for pegging you right during that moment of weakness (Longbow Ballistae especially). This is why my Elec/Elec Brute keeps a KB IO in Grounded itself, to avoid those occasional moments of weakness. Most really KB-heavy foes seem to appear on solid enough ground that I've never had a problem with them though, aside from the Lightning Rod issue.

This.
There is a tiny period during Lightning Rod's animation where you are far enough from the ground. In my experience, I've rarely gotten hit for KB during that point, but it did happen.

Understandable, but this was a toe to toe battle with Diabolique, and she threw me around like a rag doll repeatedly. E-Mails in response from it with NCSoft, say that there is a known bug associated with it and it's pending patch. So hopefully we see it get fixed soon.

Can't say that I've been Knocked back, down or up since I got grounded...but I also haven't gone up against and of the Know to kock people around Critters since then either.

I also have KB Io in Hover...and I play in Hover 100% of the time...even WH doesn't make my Grounded KB protetion drop off. Might not have the resistance to KB only Protection with Grounded which would cause some Critters to KB an Elec anything
