Ranged Stalker options?

Historically, my stalker of choice has been NB/Nin.

While I've always been quite pleased with the build's success (in both PvE
and PvP), the complete lack of ranged attacks (vet/temp notwithstanding)
is beginning to bug me a little when it comes to all the SS/SJ "Bunny-hopping,
mexican jumping bean" builds out there that definitely need killin...

So, time to consider something with range. Spines seems like the obvious
choice to me, but I've not kept up with the latest stalker sets, so I'd like
to hear your opinions on what other options might also be worth thinking
about.

It will definitely be used in PvP situations, so keep that in mind.

Thanks in Advance for your thoughts.

PS> Mid's builds aren't necessary to the discussion, although, I'd certainly
look at those too if you feel so-inclinced to post any.

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.

Grab Spirit Shark, Spirit Shark Jaws and Hibernate instead of ur current Epic.

Done Deal. Loooking at about eh, 900-1000 damage rite thar.

I'd do Spines/WP/Mako or Spines/Nin/Mako.

Thanks Mac,

I'll take a look at those in Mid's and see what I can come up with... Just wanted
to make sure I wasn't missing out on a new set that might work well...

@Not_Epsilon

I have some Sharkiness in the planned build for the NB/Nin guy, (though
I'm mildly curious about Dark instead - partly on the theory that they might
nerf the shark (and my Widow really liked Gloom), but he's only L40, and
even with those (down the road), they're not usable in SC at all.

It's a tradeoff between offense and defense really. Dark Blast will do about the same damage over time as Spirit Shark (less damage per attack but a shorter recharge and faster activation, which means you can use it more often), but in the burst department Spirit Shark's better. Soul gives you access to Shadow Meld which is an incredibly useful power that sort of acts like a mini-MoG (90 second base recharge, 20 second duration, something like 30-35% defense to all when enhanced) which can help you get out of a tough situation if Phase or Placate isn't ready.

For my ranged stalker I'm using spines/nin/mako and it's pretty effective and I only got one pvp recipe making to rep cap in 3 days with him. I build for pretty much ranged defense and if you can get enough I find it does do something.

In normal pve it sits at 60% and when I enter pvp its telling me it drops to 40%, 35% when hide and stealth are suppressed. For those people that don't build accuracy into at least some set bonuses I notice whiff on my quiet a bit, especially scrappers and the fire blast I see them all using as of late. My heal recharges in 15 seconds I think somewhere arpund there anyway.

Defesne may be kinda lol but when you got enough you still notice it

P.S. when I hit kuji-In retsu combat attribute window only shows ranged def going up by 10%, and the need to fix pvp recipe drops

I have a spine/wp/mako that I frequent RV with (well at least before I started my thugs/therm). You will be an excellent squishie killer. BTW, put 3 Centriole exposures in Impale.
