Just reran Free Statesman/Defeat Tyrant arc tonight and got me thinking, why does he still class as Archvillian, Reichman has his own class, others aswell...

If I were Statesman, one of, if not the most powerful Hero in COH, founder of all....I know I wouldn't stand by and let my name be linked to an Archvillian in anyway...unless??? hmmm

Reichsman has his own class? Seriously?

Statesman's not Deadpool, so I doubt he knows he appears in one mission of a video game described as an archvillain. :P

Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.

It's years-old content. No-one has been back to so much have a look at it for a long time, so his class hasn't been updated to Hero, because there was no Hero class back then.

Also, why does he have to be a hard-coded AV? Why can't he scale down to EB like all of the signature characters do when they help you? Does he really need to be so stupidly overpowered as to say "Hey, you down there! You'll never be this awesome!" I hate this old idea that our heroes were the nameless rabble that fought minor criminals and had to gang up on everything, while the Statesman was so powerful he could solo everything by himself. I much prefer the newer approach of making our characters on par with the bad guys via the AV-to-EB mechanic.

Statesman is already stupidly overpowered, even fighting him as a Boss sucks.

All heroes/villians can't be equal in strength and power. There's always got to be those that are just above everyone else, I mean if Spider-Man was equal strength to say...Hulk or Juggernaunt, sure it be cool and all but if all heroes where all of that level, world would be destroyed very quicky. Might as well make all heroes equal to the Giant Monster classes too..

Sounds like some would like to see : Issue 17 - Death of Statesman (Don't see it happening) but might make for an interesting event where Atlas gets destroyed or becomes a hostile zone for a month with Rikti running the place, and the Citizens all become Rikti Citizens and Heroes attack them lol and the flag truly becomes his cape lol

He's strong, but decidedly beatable. The Statesman is around on the level of enemies like Nosferatu, Silver Mantis or Valkyrie. As an elite boss, he's strong enough to be impressive, but not so strong as to be a Mary Sue.
