Cure my altism

Lets start by saying that i played many games and i usually play something like a hybrid healer(daoc friar, wow druid, ddo battlebard, war disciple of khaine, ...). In this game however i seem to almost like it all. So far i have:

fire/fire/earth tanker 50 only io char, although rather cheap. first time ever i liked a tank, still love it but not much of a support char.

plant/kin/fire troller 50 truely love the looks of plant powers, love my costume on this one love how it plays, hate how people expect me to play

Storm/ice/dark def 50 nice visual, costume and background not so ok, does alot of damage for a defender and i love the triple rains. Is usefull to group to

WS 43 love it, how it can change roles, mostly powerleveled in ae which was not a smart idea

dark/rad 41 def this was my first char. I loved the idea, love my costume and background, love how dark plays, but very unimpressed with damage of rad. I love that it has several aoe but they lack damage.(even more so that a fully slotted ice storm easy outdoes all that i have)

elec/shield/? 35 scrapper this char i like alot, but more for the visual and as some sort of toon i wanne keep to have fun with but not really my main i think. Dont get me wrong i love it but still.

So there you go, i also have several lower level alts ill/rad trol, trap/ar def amongst many others. So far for a quest to find what should be my main has not succeded. Dark/ice def seems like something that could be very nice to, but cant seem to find a good angle to make this char.

Therefor my quest continues and i call upon you all to help me.

What to do, what should be my main.
usually my intrest are:
-versatility
-usefull
-aoe damage(does not have the been the top of all damage, but to low i dont like either)
-can take a beating
More or less in that order. But preferably the char should have a bit of all. For instance a very usefull char but without some damage would not be my kind of thing.

Thanks for any advice to make me settle my mind

With three level 50s and another few over level 30, I don't really think altism is much of a concern for you.

But if you're looking for something new to work on then considering your criteria, and the fact that you've mentioned regretting powerlevelling your WS in AE -

Peacebringer

Just as versatile as a warshade, but with a number of important differences.

Ive got 5 50s and nearing my 6th and I feel I suffer from chronic altism (I have no more character slots left on my home server Defiant, half a server full on Union and half a dozen more on my second account on Defiant).

I will admit my 50s get less play time than my leveling toons and although I would consider my main as Tired Angel (my forum name and global) I generally only break out my 50s when a team is looking for something specific or (until recently that is) to help make up mentors with mentor tetris. I will occasionally play them if I fancy a change. I just find it exciting earning new powers and learning how to use them. I have even, for the most part, not doubled up on powersets so I can try everything!

As for something for you to try I would recommend maybe a Fire/Rad Controller. I suggest this because the combo of Fire and Rad can do a lot of damage, it also allows you to be useful because of the debuffs and versitile because of the mix of control, debuffs and damage.

I think the only thing that it can't do is take a hit although you do get a heal and the control and debuffs can help stop things hitting you in the first place.

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

Peacebringer.

If you love hybrids, you'll love the diversity a PB can bring.
Spec in medicine pool (to add to glowing touch) to be a back-up healer/buffer.

Friend, until you need a Spreadsheet to track all of your alts, you are Not sick. I have 130+ characters - I am an alt-o-holic.

That said, a PB is a heck of a lot of fun, very flexible, can fling a heal at others, though not a huge one, act as a Scrapper, Blaster, or Tanker... they adapt to the flow of the battle.

If you want to try 'the other side of Defenders', check out a Corruptor in CoX. Fire/Storm will give you 'dual rain' goodness.

Masterminds! Although, you may find yourself hating that the MM, himself, does not have lots of attacks and some would argue Should Not have any.

Finally, try a Dark/Dark Scrapper... or just about any kind of Scrapper... or a Blaster for that matter. Heck, do what I did, give in to your altism, and try one of Each!

Be Well!

I felt that my AR/Trap/Mace is highly versatile and useful. Lots of AOEs as well. As an added bonus, the build is prety rare.

Also, dont forget the Villain epics. I belive that that crab would meet all of the criteria youmetion.

But remember, Altism cannot be cured. However, there are treatments available...Lots of treatments.

Agreed, if you want a one-stop-shopping character, Peacebringers are very flexible. They can even solo reasonably well, especially once you get the White Dwarf form. I have a bind to automatically lock onto any anti-Kheldian NPCs like Quantums and Voidhunters, so I just switch to Dwarf and curbstomp them first, instead of flying in and blasting everything in Nova.

I'm curious on the plant/kin, how were teams expecting you to play that disappointed you? If you were expected to SB everyone constantly, you might try plant/storm or plant/rad. Both are versatile, team-friendy and solo-friendy, and IMO a blast to play. Controllers in general can do double and triple duty as support, damage, or even tanking with the right sets and some know-how.

PB's are more sef-contained that Warshades. They're powerful to be sure, and it might be your thing. Argee with vilain epics being extremely good in any role you choose to buid for, and decent at even roes you don't build for.
