I was cut off in mid-RP, which is never good. Not the worst loss I've had due to to maintenance, though I don't think I've ever lost anything that wasn't recoverable.
Besides, beating maintenance by the narrowest of margins is the Oceanic way! I still have fond memories of the Ice Mistral SF that we finished right before shutdown after going into the last mission with less than ten minutes to go. 
Ahh, yes, maintenance. Add in daylight saving and suddenly a prime CoH/V playing night can end prematurely.
And yes, beating maintenance in finishing a mission is an adrenaline-pumping experience. I've had the "it's only 60 seconds til maintenance WHERE IS THAT ******* FINAL MINION HIDING" experience several times. :-)
I've actually started subscribing to both World of Warcraft and Champions Online (although I'll probably drop one or the other after next month) just so I have something to scratch that MMO itch during maintenance.
It does get irritating sometimes, but I figure the forums have enough negativity without my harping on the matter. I do find some small pleasure in responding to those sarcastic "oh, I wish I didn't have to work so I could play CoH/V during maintenance times" posts with "unless you're in a different time zone, of course". The sarcasm tends to evaporate for a while after that.

Especially on nights like this when they publish this applies. Logged in tonight at 9 pm to get 'you have been disconnected from servers' only a couple of minutes later. Nuts. and i have to work tomorrow so i can't wait out 5 hours. Or can i? hmm
I'd just like to take a moment to revel in the fact that there was maintenance last night that didn't affect us!
As usual the the down time came,
They included the British/European timing but failed to include timings for Australia.
Though we were an increasing fan base, and it is growing. Plus we can get hit first by the server down time.

I have posted similar reply in the other Oceanic Lounge maintenance thread. Here in Hawaii, the servers go down at 1:00 a.m. We aren't afforded the late-/over- night games sessions that the mainland U.S.A. enjoys. Previously, and until just recently, the servers went down at 3:00 a.m., which was appreciated by most of us.
I used to live on the East coast of the U.S. and the servers went down at 9:00 a.m.!!! They now go down at 7:00 a.m., and I hope East coasters respect the priviledge of having awesome all-night game time.
It would be nice to have the 3:00 a.m. shut down return.
As I stated in the other post, the devs hate City of Villains, but hate the Pacific region even more.

What were you doing last night when maintenance hit?
Last night was fine for us, but the week before we were doing a mayhem and at 5 minutes before maintenance Back Alley Brawler decided to show up at our bank. That was a close one, with only a minute or so to spare before shutdown.
