Fire/Fire: some questions
no you cant cap him at 90% defense
the "soft cap" is 45%...thats where you wanna be when you defensively make your tank
i tried with a 2nd build and found that 40% was about where i could hit. the reason is cause i didnt wanna lose out on any damage output the fire tank has which is the main reson behind fire tanks...damage.
obilerations and touch of death are your freinds...along with titaniun coating and gausiian set
all have melee def which is what i would go for above all being a melee toon.the issue there is finding enough slots

This guys defense is around 30 to melee/ranged and 20 to AoE. I am not seeing a good way to boost it further.

+res is harder to come by then +def, though they are adding more every time they add IO's. 19% may not be impossible with IO's but i haven't really tried on my fire/fire. he has weave in his build, which is useless unless you are building for +def, so drop for another power if you aren't gonna use it, it's an expensive to run power if you aren't gonna leverage it. i went for recharge and regen on my fire tank, the resistance isn't bad, but with good regen and HF up as much as possible the build works fine, i will try to post it when i get home, though it may not be what you are looking for.

I am trying to help out a guild mate rework his fire/fire tank. My main is an SR scrapper so I know the power of defense and like to build a lot of defense. problem with fire aura is it is resistance based.
So a few questions. Is it possible to cap S/L resistance? I can get to 71 but thats a long way to go to 90.
I am not familiar with building tanks so most of my attack choices are what I like to use in scrappers and help buff defense but this is a tank. What is the consensus to IOing tanks?
