Where can I find low 40's Malta?

I have a quest to kill some Malta but I don't know what zone they spawn in (every time I find some they are always upper 40s and when I ask in game nobody seems to have an answer.)

So.. anyone know where I can find some low 40's Malta?

Malta spawn all around Peregrine Island, but spawns in the low 40's are very rare. Your best bet may be to try and get a radio mission vs. Malta in that zone.

Ones inside the door mission will only count it's a generic "defeat X malta." In my experience, the main givers of hunt malta aren't crimson and indigo, but Jenkins and other Portal Corps contacts. I'm willing to be that this is a "Keep PI safe from Malta" mission.

If it's not and any old Malta would do, another option is RWZ. You'll find bigger spawns of them and at a lower level then in PI (and if you don't care about XP, you can just get a random level 50 to nuke a spawn or two for you there).

That, or drop the mission.

As noted, Peregrine Island is aboout it. There is a circuit of spawn sites that produce different enemies in the under 45 range (Malta, Crey, Carnies, Nemesis, Rikti). Of course the area is also lousy with Nemesis, Rikti, and DE spawns on their own as well.

The two freighters have been mentioned. Usually you get one set of enemies standing around the stern looking bad, with two other spawns, one amidships, and one at the prow, composed of two factions fighting.

Next is further up the island, bearing towards the midline, about 2-3 blocks. A little courtyard will spawn enemies of different types in rotation. Work along that section from the corner to the open shed.

Across the street, further up the island, is a big parking lot which will have mid-40s enemies (some all-Nemesis spawns). Work to the right, and along the promenade between the skyscraper and the beach you also get mid-40s enemies of different types, with bunches of Rikti on the open grass next to it. Cut through the little alley at the far end of that area, and there will be a last low-40s spawn site around the corner from the dumpster.

If a spot is spawning Carnies or Rikti and you need Nemesis or Malta, you can kill what you find and work back down the circuit seeking your current prey. Or just go away and come back in a few minutes, but clearing the "wrong" spawn moves the process along faster.

I am told that the time of game-day determines what spawns when, but don't know if this is so or what the cycles are.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try and get a police band mission with Malta. The mission itself is from FF contact, Indigo. The quest is just a generic 'kill x Malta' quest with no specified zone or group, which makes things easier.

Maybe I can even find an AE mission around my level that has Malta in it.
