Suggestions for last four powers on a FF/Sonic?

I'm having some trouble deciding. All I'm looking to do with this character is PvE. Also, I have no idea which way I want to go with an IO build, but I'm hoping I can build it around useful powers instead of having to use a bunch of mules. This is what I've taken (green):

Force Field
Personal Force Field
Deflection Shield
Force Bolt
Insulation Shield

Detention Shield
Dispersion Bubble
Repulsion Field
Repulsion Bomb
Force Bubble

Sonic
Shriek
Scream
Howl

Shockwave
Shout
Amplify
Siren's Song

Screech
Dreadful Wail

Medicine: Aid Other, Aid Self
Fitness: Hurdle, Health, Stamina
Speed: Hasten, Super Speed
Leadership: Maneuvers

I'm not committed to any APP yet. Power Mastery looks kind of nice for Power Boost though. Electric's Power Sink looks decent too, since I'm very active with my secondary. If I take Sonic's Nuke it could be a nice combination, but the thought of toggles dropping doesn't seem like a good idea.

I've tried Repulsion Field and didn't like it, so I'd need some serious selling on that. I'm not so sure about Force Bubble either. I think I've been spoiled by Hurricane, which seems better than Repulsion Field and Force Bubble combined. I'm tempted to take Screech for nothing other than more -Res stacking.

So yeah, I'm really not sure which way I want to go. Any input would be appreciated.

Consider //Dark

Since you aren't flying, and didn't take repulsion field, Opressive Gloom gives you a minion level stun field for those that get into melee.

Dark Consumption gives you an End replenishment tool that you will find useful since softcapping the team's defenses will prevent you from getting much out of Vigilence and you get nothing from it solo.

Dark Embrace gives good resistances against lethal and smashing and resistances to 2 of the most annoying damage types for a forcefielder, Negative and Toxic.

The damage boost from Soul Drain plays very nicely with the resistance debuff from sonic. It's really too bad that the devs thought having a defender actually be able to do decent damage was bad and recently doubled it's recharge time though.

yea, think Dark is the way to go...Power Boosted sheilds seems like overkill.

I would also drop Scream in your final build and skip Screech, they're both great powers..but you have too many other good attacks.

Between Repulsion Bomb, Howl, and Shout, with a occasional Shreik/Siren's song/Dark Consumption/vet attack..you'll be plenty busy

I have an FF/Sonic of slightly higher level and found that IOing with sets to the defense softcap (ranged and AoE) made the toon twice as enjoyable. It's not terribly difficult if you scrap the Medicine pool for Kick/Tough [with res/+def Steadfast]/Weave. Getting rid of the very lengthy and stand-stilly Aid Other was part of this happiness. Tell folks they're responsible for their own healing, what little they need to do. Put the Sandman proc in your Sleep as Hindenburg has done and Voila, you've replaced Aid Self, which you don't need much anyhow. (Add five Lethargic Reposes and you've scooped up some defense to three positions for *really* cheap, influence-wise.)

With a soft-capped self, you slot Repulsion Bomb for Damage/Recharge, not stun.

I would also push recharge and drop Shout rather than Scream, since you can change the first two blasts a lot faster when working a single target, and actually build more -res that way. Shout's rooting time and shorter range are irritating.

The thing I miss most is probably Tactics, since fighting +4s is not much different from fighting +1s with high defense.

As far as Epic sets, unfortunately none of them match the cone-iness of /Sonic. (I ended up choosing Psychic Mastery for the early Hold--way better than Screech, more dmg, quicker rech, longer duration--and the potential of slotting Basilisk's Gazes [def, recov, and +rech in 4 slots!] and the Psi res, for one of the holes in Force Field.)

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll try the Dark APP on the way to 50 and see how that goes. I am pretty poor atm, so I have some time to decide on an IO build. I have a lot of good advice to work with now at least.

I would actually take Screech because while it doesn't do too much damage, it's the best ST -RES power in Sonic Blast. It does the same -RES as other sonic attacks but the duration is much longer allowing you to stack bigger numbers of -RES.

You should always remember that as a defender (especially as a /sonic) building for your own DPS might come at the price of worse team DPS. I know you're multiplying it greatly as is, but more is always better.

Did not know it had -res as Mids' didn't list it in the window of effects. Looks like it's time to give up the Force Bolt proc experiment. To Mids'! Then Jack Wolfe!
