Firefox here seems to want to save it as an unopenable '.pdf_' file though. Fixable easily enough but weird. o.O

That is a little odd, though I don't use Firefox. IE seems to be happy enough. Haven't tried Chrome.

My firefox does the same when I try to download. May, did you try just renaming the file to the right extension and seeing if it worked?

Very very well written. You write good stuff but this one shows of having the six month polishing on top of it.
Each time you write something like this I get all hyped about RP because you make CoH like a living world.
And then I log on and get confronted to reality

It's true, too. You know that reading this is hard for someone with writers block, as it just makes me want to beat my head more for not being able to get words on the page? 
But it was very enjoyable, if sad, and shows that even a Mission Accomplished can have a bad end. We need more bad ends.
For the Union (especially GG) crowd, this is the story of what Annette/Nitoichi has been up to while she was out of town the last few months.
For everyone else in this grander, broader affair, you won't have a clue who Nitoichi is, so here's a link to her Wiki entry which should explain pretty much all the back plot.

This is a long one, over 15000 words, so rather than trying to squish it into a forum post, I decided to render it as a PDF you guys can download. I hope this link works.
As a side issue, the contents may not rate as entirely 'PG-13.' There are references to both sex and nudity, though nothing terribly descriptive, and some fairly nasty violence. So rather than post something directly I could get into trouble for, you have to jump through hoops to read the bad words. (I get confused by what constitutes PG-13 in the US, so I'm not going to risk it.)
Anyway, it took 6 months to write, I hope you like it.
