Colors on Map?

Hey Everyone, just a quick question on the color around neighborhoods when you look at the map. Is this some kind of a guide to what levels spawn in that area, or is something else? I tried looking in the Wiki, and couldn't find an answer to it.

You have it exactly right. The colors do indicate the relative threat in that neighborhood. Yellow spawns opponents at one or two levels higher than the base while red gives you 3 or more levels higher.

With green being mailny safe areas. But I guess you figured that out already.

@jwbullfrog: Do you off hand remember how high spawns are in orange areas? +2-+3?

Um, sorry. I can't recall right now but it is after midnight here and I should have been in bed long ago.

Are there orange zones? I thought it was just the three? See? I'm up way past my little froggy bedtime.

Just after midnight? Here it's just close to 6:30 am. The typical time for my brain to start thinking about these things. As for orange, the place I see the difference best is in Talos. Just zoom in on the central island and you'll see.

OK, I'll check that out when my brain is working better.

As for the level difference it should be something like +2 to +3 in orange. The zone colors match up pretty well to the colors NPC's con.

www.vidiotmaps.com shows which groups spawn in each area, and what lvl range they can typically be found at.

You can also download the map pack which will add the level and enemy type information for each area of the zone to the map file.

It's based on the level of the zones, which have varying ranges. Green is a safe area or minimum zone level, yellow/orange are medium, and red is near the zone cap. For example, in Skyway City, 10-19 zone, the yellow area at the north end of the zone has mobs from 10-15 while the red area at the south end has mobs that are 17-19.
