Earth Epic Power choice questions
You probably want Seismic Smash!! Most damaging single target controller power there is, plus it'll hold a boss in one hit. It's super. Personally I wouldn't be bothered too much with Earths Embrace since you're Empathy anyway. I'd take Fissure, Seismic Smash and Rock Armour (once you're prepared for the uglyness of the poo armour). Rock Armour gives you a better chance of avoiding smashing & lethal attacks and any nasty associated mezzes or debuffs they might have.
Earth's Embrace is teh sexxxeh. Given you are an /emp not sure its a nice as it is on non healing sets, but its nice to have. Rock armor is nice, but you do look like poo. If your playstyle leans towards a little aggressive then seismic smash may be a good choice, unless of course you don't venture into melee much.

Fissure and Seismic Smash are a given. I do recommend Rock armor. However if the looking pooped issue bothers you as it does for some, earth embrace would be a great choice. As Carnifax said, you are empathy so skip it and get the Spore burst you wanted. Personally I love the hurling boulder power. If memory serves, it accepts good IO sets with nice bonuses for just 2 or 3 enhancers that might not be available to your other ranged powers. So look into that power if the 'poomantle' power does not strike your fancy/theme.

Depends how aggressive you are on your plant/emp and if you have your hp accolades already.
If you are right in the mix of it all then EE is a great choice regardless of your healing ability as a 1600hp controller is a lot tougher than a 1100hp troller. But if you already have all the hp accolades then it will be much less useful. I have it on my plant/kin and saved the hours I would have spent getting the accolades.
Additionally if you are right in the mix then Seismic smash is a great power.
If you sit back then EE and SS are both skippable on an /emp.
Rock armor is a very impressive shield.
Ok. I swapped out Earths Embrace for Spore Burst. Fissure fit the character and Rock Armor... kinda does, but the other powers in the set dont really fit. Earths Embrace did, but I'm not sure I need it. Perhaps picking a different acilliary would be better. Any suggestions? Primal could fit theme-wise as well, but I'm not sure I want to go that route.
Hmm. This decision is too tough. Does anyone know if we'll be able to recolor acilliary powers in i16 as well as our primary/secondary?

Powerboosted fort on your agro soakers means you might never need to heal.
However, if you can make /ice app work then that is the best fit for plant imo.
Spore Burst is crappy, a sleep that causes aggro. It's only good or a purple set mule.
You also don't need Spirit Tree on an Empath.

On my Plant/Emp I recently decided to take the Earth Mastery Epic set for theme reasons, and while looking through my build, I realized I only had room for 3 powers from the set. Hurl Bolder doesn't sem very good, so I just skipped over it. I took Fissure aready and I'm currently wondering wether to take Rock Armor, Earths Embrace, or both. I have Earths Embrace on perma (or close enough anyway) in mids' in my current build, but I'm not sure if taking both powers would be beneficial. I'd like to fit Spore Burst in somewhere to slot the chance to placate to help m aggro issues, but I'm really not sure if it's worth it.
Here's the build I've been toying with so far. EDIT: Haven't slotted up roots yet either with anything but generics.
EDIT (again): Would slotting roots for damage, or with damage procs be better in the long run?
