Qusetion about using bosses and stuff

Do enemies scale up in AE missions? I know that if you have a high level boss that should appear in an AE mission with a lower level player, the boss turns into a leiutenant. But does it go both ways? If a character that should be an LT or a Boss is in a mish with a higher level character will they be an EB or an AV?

IO ask because I want to use some enemies like the tsoo or the family, but I want my mission to be playable for levels 35 to 54. Is this possible?

Enemies don't scale up (minion to LT, LT to boss, etc.), no. They'll occur up to maximum level of the enemy type (within the mission's range)...if you have need of that enemy outside of that range, you can always create your own custom versions yourself; those will always be available.

Er, that's not how it works. Bosses only turn into Lieutenants on Heroic. If you put a high level boss in an AE mission, the boss will be the maximum level of the mission (so if you set the mission to 20-30 and add a Gunslinger, he'll be level 30. To a level 20 player set on Heroic he'll be a level 30 Lt.)

Enemy maximum level never increases, so if you add Tsoo to a level 50 mission they will be level 40. Their rank never increases either.

I had thought that I had read that they did a work around on this so that higher level enemies were brought down to the teams level.

Yeah, found it here unless it changed back...
A critter that spawns higher than the level range chosen will be brought down.
A critter that spawns lower than the level range chosen will not be brought up.

This may only be happening for capped missions. However, if it isn't working on uncapped missions, I think it is a bug. Apparently, it is intended for the creatures to scale down to the level of the characters in a mission.

I wouldn't your arc will probably get banned by some intern GM for being a farm

Family come in a couple of level ranges, the higher of which is 45 to 50. I don't think there's any way to get Tsoo at 50.

When I've wanted to use Family in my mission I use the 45-50 version of the group, and then set the mission level to 45-50. Lower-level characters will be auto-SKed to 45, while 50s will simply play as is.

As others mentioned, if you want Tsoo you'll have to create your own versions of them. You won't be able to make them look exactly the same (Ancestor Spirits will be rough), but you can emulate most of their powersets.

Well, I'll watch how I phrase things, but believe me, my arcs are not farms. I've already spent too much time trying to come up with interesting stories to waste it all on making a farm.

But thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll have to make a custom group, though, for the story I have in mind.

Yeah I thought so too, until I did some guy's level 30+ arc at 33 and got a Rikti Sword to the face from a +7 Hro'Dotz. However it's supposed to work, it isn't working that way.

It's ok to use bosses just don't make a map full of bosses and excpect a GM, me or anyone else to expect it's not a farm.

Don't make a Bobcat map full of an enemy group that consists of a single, easy boss, has a bunch of gratuitous rescues for maximum mob density and is set to either 52-54 or 54-54 and expect anyone to expect it's not a farm.

Most arcs have bosses. Many arcs have multiple bosses. Some arcs even have groups of all bosses. You'll have a hard time convincing anyone that a mission with a few spawns of all Zeus Titans is a farm.

Boss + AE =/= farm.
