Claws/WP I16 Brute or Scrapper?

I've been playing CoH for a couple years now and I've yet to get a villain over level 20, yet have a full stable of heroes. When I heard that I16 would herald the arrival of the claws set to Brutes I was very excited, even have a name and concept ready to go. Upon thinking on it more, I'm starting to debate if I shouldn't just go ahead and roll out a Claws/WP scrapper. It's what I know and enjoy, and it would be a new and unplayed set for me.

If you had it to do, what would you pick? Is there an edge given to one AT or the other, fury over crits or something likewise. I keep thinking fury building will be fun, and the added hitpoints for the Brute would just make him even more unstoppable. Add in the upcoming Going Rogue expansion and I could play either AT on whatever side I wanted.

I'm torn...

Brutes have more base HP. More for HPT to buff. More for RttC and FH to regen. Claws will mean fast fury building. Wait for the brute would be my choice. I've got too many WP users, so I have no idea what I'll be using as a secondary. But I will have a claws brute.

Be well, people of CoH.

Off topic-ish, but why not make a Brute version of Bill? *shrug*

Seven years of heroism. Seven years of friendships. Seven years of saving the world. Seven years of virtuous selflessness.

You will return, for you are the mighty City of Paragon, the City of Heroes.

Ahh... The ease of being able to to build furry with such quick and fast recharging attacks as well as low endurance cost. That's going to be rather fun. Now that I think about it, I may actually roll up a claw/ela brute. Not only that, villians can get the raul weapons at 35 by doing a story arc. No need to wait till 40+ to get gutted by big floating eyeballs. Those claws are so clean.

In true scrapper fashion, patience is not a strong suit of mine, I just need to wait for I16.

On my previous WP scrapper my playstyle would have me jumping in the middle of a large spawn and letting RTTC fill up and then just go crazy. With the added hp's and the ability to build up fury so fast, and then the fury further making the claws attacks hit THAT much harder, seems like a win win to me.

Because Bill Z Bubba = Scrapper.

Belle Z Bubbette might be a brute. Cloning gone wrong, you know the drill.

But the real reason I'll never have a claws/sr brute? I don't want to experience the truth of brute superiority like that.

Hmmmmmmm...that brings up an interesting angle I hadn't considered,a Claws/SR Brute. I'm thinking on paper /WP would make more sense for wading into large groups and creating havoc. What does /SR really bring to the table that would make it possibly better than /WP?

1) Easy to softcap to all three positions
2) Quickness (20% recharge, slow resist and a hefty runspeed bonus)
3) Scaling resistances when you're low on health
4) 90% (or 95, I forgot) defense debuff resistance
5) A true godmode if you're not softcapped
6) Click mez protection (I'm a fan of those)

I was going to make a claws/wp brute in I16... but then i couldn't wait and made a scrapper... and then I realized I really wanted to do a brute because the red side content is still new to me... (despite my 5 year vet badge)... so I made an energy/wp brute (with GIANT MECHANICAL ARMS.)

um... let see.. you're questions was... uh... yeah, the brute has more hp and more damage potential then the scrapper.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
