Solo'd my first pylon!
249.54 DPS. Freaking sweet man. I can't hit 200 on Bill.
Be well, people of CoH.

Bill beat me to it, but:
DPS = 38343.75 / seconds to solo pylon + 127.8125
= 38343.75 / 315 + 127.8125 = 250 DPS
Incinerate -> Scorch -> Cremate -> Scorch is a particularly endurance efficient chain that gives up some but not a lot of DPS, and doesn't take huge recharge.
I haven't hit 200 DPS on ANY toon. Maybe a blaster, but I've never checked my DPS on those. Some day I should make a DPS toon.

Was really hoping that the chain FU, Slash, Focus, Eviscerate with Chance for BU, Chance for DR debuff, Chance for BU, Chance for DR debuff would have pushed me over the 200 mark, but alas, no. On the plus side, that chain didn't need hasten. Not sure if replacing hasten with assault would do the trick or not. Kinda doubt it.
Be well, people of CoH.

that's odd... the first thing I do with a build after hitting the soft cap is figure out how to get over 200 DPS (blasters I aim a bit higher)... if I can't... I try something else.
BTW Billz, I don't have my spreadsheet up yet.... but if I remember right I believe FU, Slash, Focus, strike, slash, Focus does better DPS then FU Slash Focus Evicerate when procs are added... and it doesn't need hasten.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
250 DPS? Daaaaayum. That's pretty ridiculous. I suspect the procs in all of my ST attacks helped out a lot, and not to mention getting about 10 AaO buffs from being surrounded by monkeys. Much higher than I thought it would be. Thanks for the math help everyone.
Shred, just checked and without procs, that chain does less than my current chain of FU/Slash/Focus/Swipe repeat. But not by much.
And now I'm suddenly confused:
Werner, that equation you're using, does it include the 20% dam-res that pylons have? I'm remembering the answer to be yes, but please verify.
And if the Achilles' Heel CFDRD hits that, it actually debuffs the pylon by down to 4% DR because doesn't dam-res automatically resist dam-res debuffs? 20% resist of 20% debuff = 4% so actual debuff is 16% from 20% leaves 4%?
Yea, I'm waiting on a virus scan of some dork's personal laptop (50 different instances of spyware) and windows update on an old rig. Got nothing better to do that work on claws chains.
EDIT: Swipe has better DPA than strike after factoring in arcanatime? Sweeet.

5:15 is full retard fast. Congratulations! Now do it without any toggles!

So it's nothing more than a 20% buff to total DPS for 1/5th of the time? (If the proc has a 20% chance to fire off that is.) Why was a much longer nastier equation being thrown around for it?

So I think we were tossing around this:
DPS buff = (100%-80%^number of chances in past 10.3 seconds)*20%And I've started using this instead, since I use a 95% chance to hit:
DPS buff = (100%-81%^number of chances in past 10.3 seconds)*20%Those are geared around calculating the buff for every attack individually. I believe we tossed out something similar for estimating it by just applying it to the string.

Just managed a pylon in 9:53 on my dm/sr - 192'ish dps? How much dps do the fire or dm/sd builds do without AAO fodder?
Ok. Got it. But why 10.3 instead of 10? EDIT: Really not adding a lot is it? Why is it 80% to the power of # of chances and not 80% divided by # of chances?
EDIT: Nevermind. Plugging it into a new claws spreadsheet and it seems to be correct based on my normal pylon times.
Thanks much, man.

Nice!!!
Grats!! But I think popping greens is against the unofficial scrapper rules? Sure it's probably a good DPS test, but I thought pylon soloing was supposed to be no inspis, no temps, etc.
I've failed twice on my Widow where 2 lucky hits in a row by the pylon put me out, where a green would have saved my bacon.

I missed that. In that case... shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

I can't seem to stop focusing on survival at ALL costs, and one of those costs is DPS, regardless of how much I enjoy the subject of DPS. I really need something halfway between a tank and a scrapper. Oh, a brute? Yeah, I have those too. Not sure why they haven't captured my interest.

He'll easily be the most survivable toon I have when done... more tank then scrapper... but still GIANT MECHANICAL ARMS are fun.

I don't think we have official pylon soloing rules any more than we have official AV soloing rules. For DPS testing, it's good as long as you're not touching inspirations or temp powers that boost your damage.

Well if it makes anyone feel any better I just used the greens I had in my tray at the time....
Maybe if I were DM or something...but no self-heal is rough!
Here's my scrapper solo'ing crap rule:
Is it dead? Good job.
Meteor Shot, my level 50 Fire/Shield scrapper, hit 45% to everything today (does 44.99% and 44.37 to ranged/aoe count?) and I decided to stroll over to the RWZ and take on one of those big bad pylons that knocked my Claws/Dark around a while back. It was mano y pylon for a 5 minute 15 second battle. I used my cell phone stop watch to time the fight. The strategy was basically gather up some Monkeys to fuel AaO and go to town. I had to pop a few greens here and there to stay up, but I managed to kill the thing in glorious fashion! Woot!
Anyway, could someone use the pylon DPS calculation to figure out the DPS of the chain I was using? 5:15 is how long it took. I don't have that thing handy or I'd just plug in the numbers, but I'm sure one of you has it nearby...
I cycled scorch, cremate, incin, and GFS as they came available. With hasten running something was usually recharged and ready to be used. With hasten down I had a bit of a gap in my chain, but I haven't really built this guy for hardcore ST DPS and high recharge. It's pretty much an afterthought. The main goal for this build was to make him ready to survive 8 man missions solo come I16. The build below is pretty much what I have on live minus a couple of the LotGs and I haven't gotten around to getting 4 more Numina's (I have the triple and the unique).
One important thing I learned from this fight is my endurance use is extremely good. I went the entire duration of the fight without ever having to use blues or conserve power, and that was with nonstop chaining and two hasten crashes to deal with. When it was over I still had a hefty chunk of endurance left. I estimate I could probably go a good 7 and a half minutes straight, no blues, no conserve power with all my toggles up and constantly chaining my attacks. This makes me a happy camper. It basically means I can run myself dry, hit CP, have unlimited endurance for it's duration, and then last long enough to hit it again before I run out of endurance. Anyway, here it is:
