Earning money

Hey guys,

I need to earn around 400mill to kit out my main toon with enhancements.
I have 20 mill, and was wondering what's the fastest way to do this?

Thanks,
Aiz

Research, invest, and craft.

For example, look through the "crafted enhancements" list and see what's going for a good price. Now, see if there's any recipes of those enhancements that are being sold on the cheap.

For example, say Synapse's Shock: Chance for recharge (I made that up), fully crafted, is selling for 50 million (the last 5 prices may show like 47 mil, 52 mil, 40 mil, etc.. just average it out). Now let's say the RECIPE is selling for only 10 million. Buy the recipe, the salvage, craft it, then sell the enhancement for 45 million. If it doesn't sell right away, keep it there for a bit. Once it sells, use your profit to buy more such recipes and increase your gains.

Of course, a 40 million inf disparity between recipe and enhancement is often very rare. But it's not too uncommon to see a 10 million inf difference.

Of course, if you cant find any recipes on the cheap, you'll have to do a few TFs then take your chances with the random number generator when you spend your merits.

You can also farm AE for tickets, then get whatever salvage is selling for obscenely high prices. This won't be AS fast, but it's sure-fire. People always need salvage (because they're too lazy to farm it), and if you decide to be a provider, you can net some decent profit. And WITH that profit, you can move onto bigger things (like what i mentioned above)

Another strategy is to take advantage of other people's impatience. Find recipes (not enhancements) where there's a lot for sale, no (or few) bids, that are selling for like 100 inf. Buy as many as you can for the low price, then SELL them to an NPC Vendor.

Along the same vein, if you're patient, you can bid low on something relatively popular, and once you get it (because there will always be someone who will sell something for a low price just to dump it or assure an "instant sale"), you can sell it for almost twice what you bought it for, IF you're patient. However, having only 20 mil in the pot, it'll be hard to do this on the most popular items. Also, it's not "quick".

Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

As a flipper at heart, with 20 million I'd look for something I could pick up for ~10 million and sell for 20+. Then when I doubled my stake I'd look for something I could pick up for 20 and sell for 40+.

Once you're up over 100 you can blanket a level range with bids, that really gets the ball rolling. Check in daily to list your wins and the $$$ starts multiplying surprisingly fast.

But that's just because I don't like crafting stuff.
These days it's probably faster to exploit the giant disparity between recipe and crafted IO price.

Or if you prefer the steady, tried & true approach you can craft generics. They're still going for kooky prices (400k for a level 30 Acc this morning, for instance). Slower than flipping or crafting set IOs, but basically foolproof.

Ditto. For generic IOs it can be quite profitable to craft & sell at mid levels, but for set IOs, the supply and demand at level 50 (or wherever the IO set caps out at) is far greater than at any lower level. Occasionally I roll recipes on someone who's not 50 yet, and the level 48 or whatever they wind up being IOs can take a while to sell, and may not sell for as much money.

I just bonked into this headlong over the weekend. Managed to pick up a Regenerative Tissue: +Regeneration rec for 10m, but it's level 27. The level 30s are selling for 80m at a fairly good clip, but since mine's 27 it's been parked since Saturday with only one bid outstanding. It'll be a nice profit if it sells, but the wife wants it for Cauterize if it doesn't..

You might also look at the 'Slow but reliable?' thread I posted a couple days back. Don't want to bump it because this stuff seems to get outdated fast, but there's some great advice there. I've been making about 5-10m a day in 10 minutes worth of marketeering based on what these guys told me.

Now, if I could just find a efficient way to get Merits for LotG+Rch or Numina's +/+ without having to solo strike forces..

The numbers may have changed, but with almost any toon you can set the difficulty at 1 and speed run any number of arcs via Ouroboros.

post-I16 idea for efficient solo TF merit farming:

migrate my plant/fire dom over to Paragon and hit Positron like an avalanche.

He'd have Seeds of Confusion & pretty good AoE capability, he could clean house on all those annoying spawns.

Yeah unfortunately even in cases where it makes no difference recipes that aren't the highest level sell a lot slower and generally for less.
