4th Annual Keyboard in Dishwasher Thread.
If it looks like it will melt while in your hands too long, don't put it into the dishwasher. |

Well basically I decide to do my spring cleaning...ok so I'm a tad bit late. I recently learned my current video card is on life support. If you don't know what a 7900GTX looks like on life support, I present the following evidence.
This means I need to buy a new one and since I'm too immature to clean the PC when I install the new card, I'm cleaning now, before it gets here.
Lucky for me, I bought a Cosmos 1010 when I built my new rig. Cleaning this thing is ridiculously easy. Filters on the fans are really good at keep the dust out.
I had so much extra time left over I went to the gym...and got STUNG BY A WASP on the way there.
Did you kill the wasp after it stung you? That gives me a small amount of satisfaction after I get stung

Nope. Mainly because there are REALLY big yellow jackets in my area ATM. When I felt with sting, I assumed it was one of these yellow jackets and ran way like a little girl. I manage not to scream, but upon seeing it was a wasp I looked around to see if anyone saw me. I fled the scene, mainly out of embarrassment.
Embarassment? It doesn't matter WHAT stings you - it HURTS. Don't be ashamed.
And on-topic: I put a keyboard in the dishwasher once. I couldn't really disassemble it before I did so. After the wash it didn't work so well, but as it wasn't up to scratch pre-wash I didn't really lose anything. But I won't be doing it again

Hard to believe this is the 4th time I've done this. Seems like it's been more frequent. Last year I decided a keyboard cannot functionally survive a third trip through the dishwasher. While structurally intact, it just didn't have the same oompf after round three. So this years is actually round one for this keyboard, and the process was actually easier and faster then it's predecessor. (incidentally, the said predecessor continues on as the keyboard for my old PC)
On the off chance that someone from Logitech is reading this, or one of you knows someone from Logitech please give them this message. Placing screws for the keyboard assembly underneath keys is not appreciated in the slightest. Especially keys that have those annoying clips, like the numpad plus sign...
Anyone wishing to attempt placing their keyboard in the dishwasher should have the following equipment:
If you actually attempt to place your keyboard in the dishwasher consider the following; anything a wire is attached to does not go into the dishwasher. If it looks like it will melt while in your hands too long, don't put it into the dishwasher.
If you've never considered placing your keyboard in the dishwasher or some other method of thoroughly cleaning your keyboard; FOR GOD SAKES wash your hands before eating or encountering the public.
