I have an Idea for my Fire/Fire Build, but I need a little advice

Right now I'm thinking on dropping incinerate and Greater Fire Sword from my Fire/Fire Tank, with one of the ideas being to move taunt earlier in the build (I originally took it at 49) but I don't know what to pick up in place of the other two. One idea is to take hasten at one point, but that still leaves me with one power choice with no clue what to take. The only primary power I didn't take is burn. and for attacks I've focused on the PbAOE's. I know the perfect solution would be to test drive things over on Test server, but that's not a viable option right now.

I would say you answered your own question. Altho, if you took temp protection over burn......... Seriously, I can see why someone would take temp protection, but I could never bring myself to do it, kinda like permafrost on my Ice tank.

If you are concentrating on PBAoEs, there really is no good reason not to take burn. Yeah, stuff runs out of it, but it also runs back in. My fire/fire/pyre only has Combustion, Burn, FSC, and Fireball for attacks. well, scorch and boxing, but those aren't on my bar. All I use him for is farming, and single target attacks just annoy me when I am farming.

I would stronly urge you not to drop Incinerate. It's the best attack Fire gets. GFS is damn good too, but you can prolly skip it for other options. For DPA & DPE, there's really only one attack tankers get that's better than Incinerate, Energy Transfer, and that one causes you damage back. The only other attacks that do more DPA (Seismic Smash, Freezing Touch, KO Blow & Clobber) have about 1/2 the end efficiency.

I think by others knowing what all your power choices are, it would possibly help you in getting some good ideas.

Your call, but I wouldn't drop Incinerate and Greater Fire Sword. Those are your big ST damage powers, and I know I always feel their lack when I exemp below 35. And I wouldn't worry about getting burn, unless you have a good, consistent plan for keeping enemies in the patch.

I would drop GFS over Incinerate. The activation time on GFS is just silly.

In my opinion, using ET as a comparison is bad. It may have the best DPE, but seriously, ET is so crap now. The damage it causes to you is negligible, but the activation time is so long you are lucky if a mob isn't dead before it goes off, wasting your own health, and taking away damage you could have actually done to it.

And with burn, yeah, mobs run out, but they run back in too. I get a lot of mileage out of burn.

all i know is gfs and incinerate with f.e. and b.u. is awesome...dropping either would be a bad idea imo

dropping acro would be the first way to save power choices..also rotp is just eye candy...neither is needed

I think by changing those powers you will be going for something very similar to what many other people have gone for. AoEs aren't economical on a Single Target unless you make them so, you can be all about AoE and still ST although not in a burst sense fight with an end friendly build, however it'll always have its end friendliest side coming from hitting the numbers.

In taking out GFS and Incinerate you can still have a build that does enough damage to the endurance bar. Played with thought. I would swap them out for Burn and haste for a Fire Sword Circle-Burn-Combustion combo. Combustion being the bigger AoE is best to catch runners running out from Burn and getting them to run back in. Fireball has the same AoE size but is too long a rechg.

Burn is great DPE and can be used to save endurance on a single target. If you swapped Melt Armour out for Ring of Fire you should be able to immob a ST still and Burn, this will increase your ST damage greatly. Melt Armour for its end cost and over time doesn't jump at me looking desirable at all XD.

Consume has no Acc so I take it you are thinking ahead at times using Build up with it. I hit numbers with mine making even no end mod give me a full bar but 3 end mods is good for one target.

Temperature protection is great early if you are a flier (no leap pool) who needs a kb protection somewhere early. As you are a leaper you could postpone that till 49 and have more slots spare for Fireball which imo is lush with 5-6 slots. Taunt would then have to be sooner and I think that is one of your reasons.

Keep Char, always best to actively defend yourself against the likes of Sappers.

End red on Blazing Aura and Acrobatics as their eps is costly. 1 end red in either does more than the 3rd slot in stamina but you should find slots easy as Temp Prot doesn't help overall by being more than 1 slot for starters. Superjump can afford to lose 1. RotP, I actually love the powah, but 6 slots is OMGness.

I would like to see what happens when you make changes and then in export look on the right and select PhpBB/Zetaboards before exporting again because the build I looked at will have bugs in it. What the rest of us see will not of imported right.

Thanks for the general advice, Haven't really thought about Dropping melt armor but the Idea of swapping Ring of Fire was something I considered.

yes, the primary objective was to move Taunt earlier in the build

Blazing aura I was planning on getting some End Red via sets. (most likely Sirocco's since that's not TOO cost prohibative
