With the story hints to the Battallion, this is pretty much already on the cards.
And technically we do have multiple alien races to fight- Shivans and Nictus.
Well, shivans aren't really an alien race. They're more like corpses animated by an alien power. (and IIRC, the Ghost Slaying Axe works on them, too)

Yeah, I could've swore that 'The Coming Storm' talked about when Ouroboros was released was foreshadowing a 'true' alien race approaching.
That or the release of Rularru....

Unless this new alien race would be a part of an established CoX storyline, I don't really want a new race. It is bad enough keeping track of the Nictus, Peacebringers, Rikti (Okay, their not really aliens, but they have giant saucers.), and the Hydra Men.
Besides, whatever the hell the Coming Storm is, I'm leaning away from aliens and going towards Nemesis and his ability to just say that everything went on because it was in his plan.

Another suggestion is why not have a new alien group invade the Earth. Create a new Alien Race to invade the Earth and go to war with the Rikti. Since you had the war within the 5th column a few years back. Why not a war between alien races. I'm sure some of us are getting bored with only fighting one race of aliens all the time.
