Partial collection/destroy goals possible?
Lets say you include a collection-goal of 95 cars, and another collection-goal of 5 cars. The 95 collection-goal is set to be non-required and the 5 collection-goal is set to be required. What will happen is that the player will be required to collect only 5 cars out of the 100 present on the map, however, the player will be required to collect the right cars, meaning that the player actively has to look for those cars all over the map.
If you were working with an in-door map, where Front/Middle/Back mean something, you could set the 95 item collection to spawn anywhere, and the 5 item collection to spawn only at the back and then you could direct the player with clues and dialog to hunt only for the glowies at the back... but even that still leaves the player looking for the right items to collect.
Currently, I know of no other way. Sorry.

Ah, thanks... this makes sense. I think I'll probably just reduce the number of glowies heavily and give them all an "approach" text so players will know when they are near one. Sadly, the story I thought up needs an outdoor city zone for this to work, and those are all vast (except for stuff like st. martial after an earthquake, but that's no good).
Maybe in a future patch they'll add a "# needed to complete" to collect / destroy objectives. Hey, I can dream... :P
Thanks again,

I did something similar but on an indoor map for a arc I'm trying to put together. I made one glowie as the main goal, and several others as non required. So far in testing, it works they way I want it to.
In my latest I'll-probably-never-finish-it arc, I wanted a lot of my particular glowies around for decoration and as a good way to droop clues so I have them set up in a series, something like "Glowie 1", "Glowie 2", etc. I think I settled on five of them. I then made them all nonrequired and dropped some text in them [like so] to explain they were nonrequired and to read them in order of 1 to 5.
'Eyall,
I'm working on a outdoor mission in my arc that requires the player to collect things. Now, I'm not too crazy about outdoor glowie hunts, so I thought it would be nice to spawn a lot of these things, but only require the player to collect X (so they get enough research data to proceed, disarm enough bombs to prevent the structure from collapsing, weaken the aliens' energy transportation grid enough to force them to leave, etc etc). Is it possible to do this with collect / destroy object goals? I seem to recall an arc that had something like this, though my memory can be pretty bad at times.
If this is not doable, what's the maximum amount of glowies that are considered 'non-obnoxious' to collect in an outdoor mission, assuming they are all spread out in a particular sub-area? (though I might just alter the story and rewrite it to fit an indoor area as a plan B)
Thanks in advance,
