@Razoras
I have never seen this either.
I saw it once, and only once... when I was editting a post that was copied over from the old forums and had some formatting in it that the new forums didn't like.
But luckily, I was able to fix the problem and not lose anything, because I ALWAYS right click inside the text field and choose Select All and then copy before hitting send. ALWAYS.
Takes care of those silly page timed out issues too, you might want to consider it Thunderspark. I do it automatically like I automatically put on my seatbelt when I get into the car.
I'll post a link to the picture, since it's quite large. It's a screen grab of the page I keep getting taken using Print Screen. I've had this error countless times and I would really like to know whats going on with it.

You'll notice that the link is from PlayNC.com and has it's own "Bad Input" URL. Whatever it is that the forum hates about my posts, I'd at least like to know what to avoid in future.

As I said before, I also got the same issue, when I was using "bad code" in my post. If these posts of yours that are causing this problem have any code in them at all... might I suggest you read the New Forums guide in my sig and turn on the WYSIWYG editor instead?
I tried to write a bit of code to run a bit of JavaScript without people seeing.. fortunately or unfortunately the forum blocked me from doing it :-/
I'm getting "BAD INPUT"... a lot, but it seems to trigger if I write a post longer than about three paragraphs. That kinda rules me out of doing my old stories and stuff
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

There's no formatting. I reduce the punctuation as much as can be done and still be legible. And the post is not as large as many of the others I've read. It's just a nonsensical error message from a system which needs to learn to be more lenient. Either that or it hates my browser, and believe me after my troubles on Mozilla Firefox, im starting to believe this could be the case.

Im finding it really hard to use the forums because I seem to get this message a LOT. Worse still, as I tend to use the Quick Reply a lot I instantly lose my entire message when I go back to the original page.
I really have no idea what the cause could be, as it seems completely random. Chances are that any post you see of mine has been edited countless times and reposted before it was finally accepted. So please, can someone take a closer look at this bug and find out what's causing all of my headaches? Surely im not the only one who's noticed it? |
Still here, even after all this time!
