Base Room PVP

An idea:

Create a new base room option that allows for PVP inside that room only. Sort of like an Arena match that others can watch. For example.... base builders could craft a boxing ring in such a room, and inner SG/Coalition matches could be done inside the base without worrying about the issue of pathing. Possibly allow invites from outside of coalition in the same manner as the old base raid invites.. (which already the game mechanics have built in)

Inside these rooms the Devs have to code them separately to avoid pathing issues in their construction (I'm not sure if that part is too far a stretch)

To take it further, badges could be issued based on boxing match wins of different types. Once a match is agreed on, close the room to those inside the match so they can't leave until it is over, BUT allow spectators to roam.

It doesn't look like full on base PVP is coming back anytime soon, but maybe this is an option in the mean time that could be implemented.

Now.. within this idea.. what could we do? Well.. base builders could craft cage matches of death with additional defense items already in game to contend with. Pond and forest rooms, maze rooms, the ideas can get hefty at how to create your own PVP room in your base.

I think it would just be easier to have Arena Battle Terminals that can be placed in a base.

This. I would imagine that the entire code for base raids would have to change in order to allow/disallow per room.

Cathedral of Pain and base raids ARE still on the radar. They aren't top priority but they're not off the shelf.

I would be shocked if they ever get the base raids back up. Now that they have done away with base raid pathing, they would have to change the entire raid system or any base that wasn't built with raid pathing would have to be trashed.

Or, more likely, have an entirely separate system if you WANT to make a raidable base. Perhaps at the supergroup registrar, you can click "I want to make my base raidable" and that would then permanently key that base to ONLY have raidable pathing and such. obviously the code *exists* for it, it's not currently in use.

But I dont' think they'd ever trash what we've been able to make so far without the pathing, they know plenty of us go nuts and make elaborate things. None of those are possible even in the slightest, with that other code. But there's no reason not to have both in this case. Splitting the codes and making them useful at the same time, I suspect, may be a problem - but they've got people working. One thing at a time

I'd suspect PVP flagging, in general, is zone (or in this case, base) wide. Putting in a room may require going through a "door" to zone into a PVP-flagged base "zone."

Just a guess on my part. Something like this may also be (or have to be) separate from marking a base as raidable or not, as well.

If it had a separate "base portal" that could lead to a designated raidable "zone"....
