DB/SR Concept Build Help
Anyone?
I keep seeing people say that you don't need Tough and Weave to reach the softcap. I'm guessing you would have to have a ton of inf for this though...??
bumping...cuz I'm bored at work and this toon needs help
Here's my attempt. I was away for a month so I might be a bit out of touch with current market prices, but I believe everything should be cheap, if you're patient enough and eventually are willing to use lower level IOs.

Here's a build I came up with, I know it's cheap because it's what I ran with on my DB/SR scrapper up until the Body Mastery as I took the powers for the sweep combo instead.
Agile is not needed, the ranged passive is easy to skip because the Mako's and other sets give good ranged defense bonuses (including the Zephyr universal travel powers I dropped from this build to keep even cheaper).

Thanks a lot for the builds you guys...exactly what I was looking for! I'll go over them at home tonight and see how it works out.
I had never considered skipping any of the passives because everyone always says to take them all.
Yea, it doesn't make much sense to drop something that costs no endurance and gives such a nice bonus to defense. But /SR combined with /DB can be a tight build, so I worked back from Elude, combined with what inexpensive IO sets I could buy to see if I could skip any. It seemed like all my sets had bonuses of ranged defense, so it was easy to drop agile and still hit the defense softcap.
And I really like the sweep combo and Typhoon's Edge, so I always make room for those.
Ya, I love the sweep combo. I use it and the AV combo on my DB/WP.
I wanted this toon to be as different as possible from my DB/WP. That's one of the reasons that I was trying to avoid the sweep combo. Plus, by skipping the attacks needed for the sweep combo I could make more room for Energy Torrent.
I also hear a lot of people say that you really don't anything but the AV combo anyways so I thought I would test that theory out myself. I'm sure I probably need more expensive IO sets to really get the full effect but that's just not possible at the moment.
After looking at the build that you provided and the one that Nihilii provided, I noticed that one relies more on Crushing Impact and one on Mako's. What are the main differences between the two sets?
CI gives a slight boost to HP and a good accuracy and recharge bonus. The CI set tends to give good enhancement values to the power it's used in.
Mako gives a larger boost to HP (not by much), a small damage bonus and eventually a good ranged def bonus. A damage proc is included in the set.
I'm of the opinion that it isn't always good to look at what the IO sets do, though, but rather if they fit the specific power and build or not.
You don't have Typhoon's Edge or 1KCuts...
May I ask why?

I don't have them because I'm going to rely on the BF - AV - Power Slice chain for this toon. This is mainly a concept build (which is why I have Energy Torrent in there even though it causes redraw) but I still want her (my first female toon) to be as effective as possible.
I'm a huge fan of the sweep combo but I want this toon to be as different as possible from my DB/WP which uses both Typhoon's Edge and 1KCuts for the sweep combo.
I was thinking of skipping the slotting on FA. Ever since the nerf, it just doesn't seem worth it anymore. Do you guys find FA to be useful at all?
I took it on my DB/WP just so I could get CP and I never, ever use it...never use CP either actually thanks to Stam and QR...heh...

I'm looking for suggestions/build examples on the cheapest possible IO set slotting that will allow for the most effective use of the BF - AV attack chain in addition to reaching or getting close to the soft cap. I'd also like for Energy Torrent to be a useful tool as I plan to use this only as an opening mitigation attack before plunging into mobs...although, I'd still like for it to do some good damage if possible. This will be the second build for this toon which is currently at level 46...kinda going for a Jedi theme. Thanks in advance!
I apologize for the lack of formatting...I'm at work...yay...
