EU pvpers?
I know a while ago (maybe 2 years) some EU people transferred to Freedom for a while, to get more action. They were one of the best PvP SG's in Europe at the time...maybe the best.
What really stood out about them is that they were convinced that elec/EM blasters were the best blaster for team arena PvP. This was a pure Euro thing, since here everybody was using only ice and fire blasters.
It showed to most people that Europe was really far behind the US in terms of skill/knowledge. Nobody here would even think of using an elec blaster, because it just didn't make sense. They did like HALF the damage of an ice or fire.
They only lasted like a month or two, before moving back to the EU servers. Granted, it was mostly because they couldn't handle the severe time difference, since they had to play at night to see any action. I got to play their leader once, and he was a really cool guy who was definitely a good player. But overall, it seemed that the top US SG's could totally dominate the top EU SG's...at least at that time. There's just no way that a team based around elec blasters could compete with a top US team.
Anyway, that's my history lesson

I'm Havok Charge, pay no attention to the "Mr. Gangstar" I was young.
Defiant PvP doesnt exist and on Union there is average PvP maybe 3/4 times a week in RV but thats about it =( nothing special really...
Defaint PvP does exist - but it's rather shy
EDIT: And welcome to the new forums, Princey

I would have loved to have come over and tested myself out. However starting from scratch and missing my friends/sg meant that I just put up with EU Pv'ers. Fingers cross they merge into one world one day so you get to fight my inferior toons (Inv/Axe, Energy/thermal, plant/psi).
I thought the biggest mistake from the EU lot that went over was they made mostly new toons which they hadn't played.
With regards to the OP PvP seems to have dived a bit at least on Union. Quite a few made the transfer to US. There doesn't seem to be an organised pvp presence which maybe is attributed to lack of pvp'ers. RV is more of a fight club than war zone (not complaining).

ahh, so fightclub is "popular" over there too. do you guys have, or attempt at having any pvp leagues? i'd imagine it would be alot easier to organize with one/two servers vs us having to transfer to test.

Aye, fiteklub is popular EU... Even when there is some decent zonal activity in RV there's always folk asking for 1v1's and moaning about ganks but i guess that's down to individual players preferences.
As for a league... We've not a chance... There's not enough good PvP'ers.
There's perhaps 10-20 good PvP'ers on Union that would take part as all the others left/transferred to US after i13
The rest of the PvP base that are casuals or newbies seem to really despise losing and would never put them selfs in a position to get defeated so we're stuck with 4 teams of 5 at tops.
I'm sure a lot more would transfer to US but as Max said, starting from scratch is not an option for some of us as you could never catch up 4+ years of toons, vet rewards and most importantly friends.
CoH PvP SG = SuperUnion - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
CoV PvP VG = Disruption - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
Global = @Rent & @Rent.
Playgroup are all **** - Global Handle
On the plus side, rumors are floating around of cross-server arenas (in fact I think I remember a redname commenting on that at Comic Con). At any rate that'll at least make the arena aspect of PvP seem a bit larger (probably a good thing as the population begins to die off and consolidate).
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
How popular is pvp on the 2 european servers? i'd imagine they'd have more pvpers per server since they have fewer options to spread out over.
obviously i cant go see for myself, maybe some of their forum regulars can post whats popular over there? the US servers have a pvp history of their own and trends that have come and go. im interested in comparing the two worlds considering they both have access to the same tools. i'd like to find out if cultural differences affect build choices and playstyles.
