Not stupid, but slightly out-of-date. CoH and CoV were officially merged some time ago, so if you've got one, you've got the other.

I don't think you can any more, if you ever could. Before CoH and CoV completely merged, you had to UPGRADE your initial account when applying the second code, rather than add new game. Customer Support might have been able to fix it then, but I'm not certain.
Now, with CoH and CoV completely merged, there's no difference between your two accounts. And since they're not going to move characters between your accounts (I guarantee it), the best you can do is just cancel one of the two accounts.

If, for example, you had CoH, when you now log in, you'll see you can create villains, and vice versa.
If for some reason you had two separate accounts, one CoH and one CoV, then you still have two separate accounts and each one has access to both 'Cities.'

Any previous CoH or CoV account can now create heroes or villains.
To try it, make a new character, and the first question it should give you is "Hero or Villain"?

Since then, all new and existing accounts have been granted access to CoH and CoV by default.

I heard somewhere (not sure where) that you could link a City of Villains account with a City of Heroes account, and only pay 15 dollars a month for both. This is probably a stupid question, but can you do that?
