Feedback - Veteran reward buff pets

Ok. Can't find a specific non-issue related feedback sections, so I'm putting this here. If anyone knows of a better place to post this, please say.

I just recently aquired the veteran buff pet reward for being subscribed for... a long time. However, I have noticed that they have, what some would describe as, a flaw. They attract enemy attacks beyond belief. Now, I don't mean PvP enemy attacks, those are warrented. What I refer to are the PvE Minions/Lutennant/Boss enemies. It would seem that, unless every single enemy you are going up against in any fight is hit at least once, then they will instantly target your buff pet (which has no attack power, and not enough Hp to survive a single hit). This results in a resummon for the next fight.

Now, I'm not suggesting that these pets should be immune to damage, just that they shouldn't be a priority target for NPC's as, with the aggro generation they have at the moment, hardly makes them worth having. I humbly suggest that their threat generation gets turned down.

Thank you

Well, technically I would say that this is a suggestion, and therefore belongs in the suggestion forum, which are further down under 'For Fun'.

That said, I don't find that it behaves like you're describing.
Yes, it dies easily when hit, but in my experience it it mostly AoE attacks that hit it, and therefore I can often get it to survive for a decent time.

I have made it last for all the fight against Reischman on Barracuda Strike Force. It's as he says, just take care with the AOE's and you'll be fine. By the way I was playing my Mastermind Thugs/Poison, and I was far away from him. It can be used too with others AV's battles if you know that

They work for ranged toons much better than they do for meele ones. My Brute can't keep his alive for very long.

I solo quite a lot with my tanker, and I notice the issue that the OP described. In addition, if I taunt a mob, he may even continue to attack the buff pet.

I've seen it a few times, too, with my brute. For whatever reason, a minion will go after my pet instead of me. (Though I don't know if that's such a bad thing - that's one less hit on me unless it's an AoE attack.)

But yeah, definitely for the Suggestion forum.

Ta for your comments of seeing/ not seeing what's happening to me. I'll go reslap this in the suggestions box 8)

I agree. I have often commented to my SG and other mates online that there is no better tanker for taking an alpha strike than my veteran buff pet. The only characters I have that have a chance of keeping the buff pet running are the tankers or scrappers with a very strong taunt or aura damage effect. Even the blaster I have who have aura damage effects can't keep them up and running.

However, it has led to a new tactic when soloing with blasters; I use the pet to take the first hit from something, allowing me to survive a little longer and get my snipes or aoes off on the group. Works well; I recommend it. Takes some practice though.
