I had a load of stuff bookmarked on the old forum and now I can't get it to load. Just 404 erros.

Can someone please explain to me how to get the old links to the new forum format? What do I have to change, please?

You will simply have to remember the title of those threads and do a search on them.

Are you kidding me?

Are you seriously saying that the forum migration was totally unable to provide for a redict of some sort?

What an utterly shoddy state. Well, time to delete all my cox bookmarks because I am not going to waste my time searching for threads because whoever designed the forum migration was so lazy that they couldn't appreciate the fact that people were actually USING the information on the previous board.

Shoddy forum migration people, really badly done.

It's more than just your bookmarks...

Checking out the Dev Digest is... undigestible.

Leads to many 404 errors.

Uh... Thanks for the 'upgrade' to the game. >:-(

Guys, have a little patience. I've performed some of these types of migrations myself, and from personal experience, I can tell you that they are the exact opposite of easy. There will always be downsides to it and things that don't work quite the way it's supposed to. That doesn't mean that the new way isn't better, and it doesn't mean that things that are broken now will be broken forever.

I'm about 99.44% sure that they'll have the Dev Digest working, likely much sooner than Soon™. As for the links to old posts, well, those may just be lost. Such is the cost of progress. If it's really that big of an issue, you'll search for the messages. If it's not, then please, don't act like this is the end of the world. Irritating? Maybe. Important? Enh.

For what it's worth, if they want to contract me and let me work from home and give me access to certain parts of their old and new database, I could probably whip up a script and configure their server so that old URLs will resolve to the new addresses. After all, like I said, I have been through some of these migrations before.

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
