Yes. Apparently it will "reinvent the web".
Kinda hard to do with only a 2.1% market share...

Good luck getting the torrent file without a browser!
Try Play.com. Was £45 on there yesterday.
I don't get what's going on with Amazon. They're totally ignoring the price MS have set...

That's just crazy talk. You're living in cloud cuckoo land with these delusions of magical protocols which can transport files through the ether.

Great for experienced users. Not so great for less experienced users. Most people don't even know the command line FTP utility even exists, let alone HOW to use it!

After some deliberation, I decided that Microsoft can go jump down a hole for a while. I had enough pain moving to my new PC without having to do it again for Windows 7.
Hasn't anyone ever head of DVDs, by the way? You can record on them these days, including the installer for a browser. It's amazing how much you can stuff on a DVD... though it's also never actually enough.

I cant believe how well this windows 7 thing is working.
From this morning's news it looks like IE may be back in but with a question to select which browser you want assuming Brussels can respond before they need to go to production.

Don't hold your breath. The babies at Opera HQ are now complaining about the ballot screen, saying the IE logo is too well known and must be removed.
They're not going to be happy until they get an icon filling 99% of the screen, and everyone else is relegated to a single line of 2 point found, in text the same colour as the background. <bleeping> crybabies.

pity, so we still have to deal with all the space waisted and other running problems like dos based games not running

DOS based games are a bit too old to run on any new computer. Use DOSBOX for the classics, that works for most every game you could want to play. If it's a Lucasarts adventure you're hankering for, use ScummVM. Both are much more reliable than trying to hodge-podge a DOS game on your Windows XP machine.
|
if i want to emulate every little thing, ill use a linux OS.
dosbox is just horrible, it doesn't even do 1 thing dos is suppose to do, never tried scummVM tho.
but it's not a classic i am talking about, i am talking about games based on dos workings, with the need of a windows OS.
m.u.g.e.n is one of these games, they work the way dos games work but need windows to start it up.

I tried Opera once a year or two ago. It wasn't able to see my internet connection on a fresh install, which is bloody odd seeing as it's a LAN... Haven't bothered with it since.
Amusingly, their latest version, Opera Unite, is having some quite humongous teething problems in beta...

Opera Unite?
Eeew. That's an awful name.
