Right Im Remember the 5th annerversiy It Was Awesome And That has just given me a thought for COH and COV how bout like once every 3 months Lord Rucusle and co and an army of followers Inviade Pargon and Statesman and co for Rouge Isle :S just a Serjestion (sorry about spelling Im deslexic)

No problem with the spelling side of things.

Yus, the 5th anniversary was a whole helluvalot of fun, though an insane lag-fest.

I for one would like to see more invasion-type events with player-triggered activation - perhaps the devs could code for an Arachnos invasion on successful completion of a MoSTF run, and a Longbow/Freedom Phalanx/Vindicators invasion of the Isles for completing MoLRSF?

I don't like the idea of a dedicated timescale for these sorts of things, though, because that opens things up for severe lag-fests, whereas setting it with a trigger will tend to spread the events out, making it more dynamic and random.

Stage one, fix the invasion code It's far too hard for low levellers. Sure, it should be a challenge, but not to the point where you have no impact. The Zombie invasions are a perfect example of how its wrong atm.
Still, Arachnos and Longbow stuff sounds neat

Perhaps have a triggered invasion ?

Statesman task force triggers an invasion by longbow into rogue isles as a reprisal (if its completed with all challenges set, then there is a Hero character with the invasion force).

LR strike Force: arachnos invasion of a random Paragon zone. similarly, depending on the level of difficulty achieved, there is a chance of one or more of the named AVs being present.

Invasion is triggered randomly between 5 minutes and 2 hours after the TF is completed with a warning given the same as for the Rikti invasions.

I support the idea of invasions as first posted and afterwards expanded by folks above. Triggerable events improve the (currently somewhat lacking imo) sense of a responsive and dynamic game world.

I agree. Would love to see more triggered events along with some more dynamic ones

To be honest, there are a lot of things I would like to see in the game that focus around invasion-type events or more dynamic activity by spawns. The thing that I really want to see, though, is villains on city zones. I don't mean PvP (that's a whole other argument) - I'd like to see unique/custom villains running/flying through zones every once in a while, on their way to performing some nefarious deed or another. Maybe triggered by completing bank missions or something, but something that isn't the standard mobs appearing every now and then.

I agree, it would be much better to see this sort of thing in-game.

The Zombie Invasion is +chance of anyway after handing in Halloween costume salvage. The price of which had recently skyrocketed, but the other night was really quiet so with the help of a friend tried to instigate a Zombie Invasion...

Several Million Inf later... nothing.

my Sg tried that as well, at least 10 of us handed in salvage... no invasion

Weird aside : I saw a Zombie Invasion alert for Firebase Zulu last week, which struck me as a bit odd.

I love the idea of custom NPC bosses & critters running to and from the banks to do heists etc. With all the Player Built critters in the MA at the mo it'd be great if the dev team could choose a bunch of their favourites for this (they all scale 1-54 too so could be made zone appropriate fairly easily).

Leverage the User Generated content the MA has given them a bit more.

There is an additional spawn condition for triggering a Zombie Invasion, I believe - hand the salvage over during in-game night (or possibly after in-game "midnight" - which is impossible to determine while you're actually in Croatoa - but I think "midnight" occurs on the half hour, every hour, thanks to our lovely predictable day/night cycle).

Also bear in mind that the invasion may trigger Villain-side, so if you're heroside, it might not happen, and unless you have the zone event for the opposing faction in your chat tab, you wouldn't see the invasion.

I have 25 complete sets of halloween salvage on my main (I need a few of them to cossie-slot some of my newer toons), so let me know if you want a set or two to play around with, Mumsie.

Thanks for the offer Shadowe.

how about a rolling invasion ?

zombies invade Galaxy city, there's no-one online so no-one responds to it.

after 20 minutes or so, the invasion front moves on to Kings Row.

galaxy city now has an additional mob wandering the streets, zombies! that attack anything they comes across (mob or player).

once X number of zombies have been defeated the invasion falters leaving the heroes to hunt down the ones left behind in undefended zones (which will dwindle over time anyway seeing as the mobs will have some success against them).

Love that idea. I know it's been suggested before (I know, because I suggested it ). There are downsides to it, and the invasion spawn-code (being based around the number of heroes within a certain area on the server's heartbeat) would need to be rewritten. But I still love it.

I thought they were based on something that was around about lvl 30? Hence why its partly easier for high levels and damn hard for lowbies?
I may well be way off the track there

I was referring to the code that determines how many zombies spawn, which is based upon recent zombie deaths and the number of players in a particular area of the zone.

The powers the invasion mobs have are right for a level 30, but the spawn rates are based on the number of player characters nearby.

@Shadowe, the day/night debacl- *ahem* cycle can be precisely found here (The matter of said day/night cycle's speed is a major bugbear of mine, as Alpha may know all-too-well, having put up with my rants about it several times but isn't suitable for this thread).

Thankies, O Ebil one.

I knew it'd be around somewhere - but I tend to post from work, which for some obscure reason has blocked ParagonWiki (but not these forums? Go figure...), so I couldn't check it.

Rip out some custom mobs from AE to make a mess around Paragon and Rogue. I got tons of free mobs for that :P. Never been used. Everytime someone caps on MA tickets, 9999. Hell brakes loose, so to speak....
