I'd go Dark, mostly for Soul Drain at 47.
I love Soul Drain so much (or Mire if you're used to a Warshade).
Aim > Soul Drain > Irradiate > Neutron Bomb would be a lovely PBAOE combo too (ok Bomb isn't PBAOE but it'd work the same way)
Dark Consumption would work nicely with EMP as well.
I like elec, powersink being my main reason and Thunderstrike gives you a second stun against those that need them.
EMP + Powersink can be nice.
Also there's the energy based set. Power Boost + EMP is sickening, I use that on my troller often. But on my defender I like Elec

Hmmm. Cynic and Shannon make good cases too. Conserve Power is great after an EMP and Power Build Up (or Power Boost in my Grav/TAs case) is sick before an EMP. And Total Focus will stack with Cosmic Burst to stun (and heavily damage) bosses.

I have only tried two defender epics though, power and elec (elec for concept reasons on my Rad/Rad and Power for "I cant believe those numbers" reasons on my Cold/Dark) and hadn't really thought that much of Dark. I have just remember that Psygon once told me that Dark can crit, which the other epics cant AFAIK. Whether that's been changed or not I dont know, but seeing "Critical" when playing a defender would be funny

Power Mastery is amazing with Rad, I would go for that personally.
Power boost made a good last power simply slotted for endurance. With what I needed it for plus the +rechg buffs in the rest of the build it simply didn't need anymore rechg saving slots for elsewhere.

So, except for psy, which I won't take anyway, nothing seems to be particularily gimped and has a few useful powers... Very good.
What title says, - which epic? I tend to play agressively (being my own tank in solo and often moving forward to AM/heal melee fighters in teams.)
Elec and Psy both have a mez main powersets don't have (for (eventual) purple set's +rech and+recovery...) but Dark and Power have +end powers as lvl 41 choice... Which might be useful, even with AM hastened Irradiate is an end hog, esp. if you need heals too.
