Looking to buy a CoH-friendly Laptop - Suggestions
PCSpecialist.co.uk is where I got my laptop from.
The staff communicate fairly rapidly and are willing to fix errors where found. Remember to extend warranty to 2 years or something if you plan on buying one from them. :3
You may also want to invest in a notebook cooler as well for extended play.

Anything NVidia based should be fine. Bear in mind, though, that this kind of laptop eats batteries for breakfast.
I'm playing COH on a Sony Vaio liberated into my care by a grateful manager, and it's more beautiful than ever. For those who value substance over style in these credit crunched times, I've always found ASUS laptops to be excellent value and readily available.
Here's the sort of spec I would recommend looking for:
<ul type="square"> [*]Intel Core2 Duo (T7200 or higher) or Core2 Extreme[*]At least 2GB memory[*]Decent-sized HD drive (but since you could put half the British Library on the average HD these days, this should not be an issue)[*]Graphics Card: the important bit. NVidia is the only way to go, and I'd recommend at least a 7 Series. Mine is a 7600GT. Make sure it has "dedicated" memory.
If you were prepared to shell out two grand, the Asus G71V is a pretty spiffy contender: or you could halve your budget, get just about double my power (wah!) and go for the G50V...
<ul type="square"> [*] Core2 Duo P8400[*] 4GB RAM[*] NVidia 9700M GT (512mb dedicated on-board memory)
Shop around, but should give you change from £1,000.
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

I have the now older style Mac Book Pro and after using it I think I would need a big reason not to use a Mac laptop again. It has a great battery life and brilliant performance. I paid to get 4 gigs of ram and it can run all of my programs with ease.
I haven't had any problems with the Mac client. I have Vista 64 installed with Boot Camp which runs CoX and Team Fortress 2 nicely.
With the Mac you get the best of both world, Mac OS X and windows. The mac has brilliant hardware which offers great performance and is usually smaller and a lighter weight.
Rock have some pretty good ones for a lot less than 2 grand.
Never under estimate the power of the laminated book of dreams
Yes it does run COH....at max graphics.
It also runs very VERY cool...

Bonus points for the quote!
Acer would be my recommendation for good value for money laptops too. Almost bought one 2 years ago but was won over by a Sony Vaio on special offer instead (Vaios are so pretty).

I saw him do that one live. I have never, ever, hurt so much from gutlaughing until I couldn't breathe. (Also, we had a random argument break out between some guy in the stalls and some guy in the gods about the Dolphins of Twoomerooma, resulting in Bill breaking down on stage, yelling "Curse you, Norwich! The audience that finally broke his will!")

They are. When I first got mine out of the case it was kind of like the black monolith moment from 2001. (Not the one with the monkeys.)

I had the exact same thing happened to me....I even did the background music.....
Hi Guys,
CoH is pretty much the only game I play, I'm looking to replace my desktop with a laptop to save on space etc and was looking for any recommendations you may have for something suitable. Thinking in the region of £2000 as the max budget.
Even considering the Mac Airbook / Pro but that would be a step away from the familiar and it sounds like the Mac client is not without its issues.
All suggestions gratefully recieved
