Invul is a great set but it blooms late, with it's mez protection at 16 and taunt aura at 28.
If you want smash, have you tried stone?
If you want to do axe you should though, it has pretty meaty sounds.
Iirc it has 4 unlockable options: 2 roman axes(do the itf), rikti axe(elusive mind accolade from invasions), rularuu(do naylors arc 30-35 nerva or poke 100 overseers in the eye).
There's also the vanguard Axe that can be had in exchange for Vanguard merits.
I have a axe/will power and he's pretty fun to play (only lvl 16 the now) attack wise on have Behead, Chop, Gash and swoop with the occasional brawl or origin power throw in that's pretty much my attack chain the best thing i find is that gash and swoop will pretty much outright kill a minion and nearly kill a lieutenant all be there selves so you can quickly reduce the size of the group your facing.
Pre rise to the challenge my tactic was charge in slaughter the lowest lvl foes quickly and then set to work slicing of chunks of the Boss's HP but now i have RTTC i hit the boss first only taking a minion out if there doing more damage than my regen rate matches
So far my biggest problem has been end management Axe is pretty end heavy but I'm hoping quick recovery will help me there but as a axe/invul you would need to rely on heavy slotting of endurance reducers (i have 2 DO in each currently and its not anuff for continuous hacking) and you would definitely want stamina for a easier life.

I was thinking about starting my own brute for pure brawling ! Friend of mine suggested going SS and Invul because I like hand-to-hand combat. But during my costume test runs I stumbles across Battle Axe and I have to admit it looks quite powerful too.
Though what about the praxis ?
It seems like the cooldowns are slow, meaning most of the time I will be standing around and do nothing.
Furthermore are there any unlockable additional weapons ?
But mainly I am interested on what the powers actually look like. Anyone got a BA Brute or Tanker to show off ?
Because if it is just some silly waving with a metal rod then I'd rather stick with the earth-shaking SS but if it is all loud,shakey and brawly I am gladly up for becoming a amateur axesmith.
