Totally rewardless MA = Test mode. Which is nasty. You don't even get insp drops, which makes for a whole array of sucky situations.
Leave MA alone until they fix all the bugs and stuff. THEN argue about badges and things that, lets be honest, bar accolades are not that important or gamebreaking.

There would be no carrot.
Some would still use it but not enough to warrant a whole issue dedicated to it.
Thus it would have been a waste of effort.
