You stick enough def buffs in a STF team and pretty much someone with all the tactical sense of a fire imp can complete it undefeated. When people list the team make ups like its some must have, there will be some people who just look at it to see what the team didn't need to know.

What a great term for a Warshade expressing happiness! And its exactly how I feel on mine

As for the kin: pre-i13 I wasn't a great fan as I was never in Fulcrum Shift range and SB doesn't make much difference once you have perma-hasten, but the new Black Dwarf Mire becomes incredible with a kin in the team so I now just stay in Dwarf and melt through things.

For Cold or Forcefield (personally I'd much prefer playing a Cold defender just because they've more tricks up their sleeves and can do horrible things to AVs)?

For Cold I'd say Ice (for theme, masses of -speed & -recharge and the Blaster versions of Ice Storm and Blizzard combined with Sleet), Dark Blast for -ToHit blending well with your shields, an Immob to keep things in Sleet and a self-heal or Sonics just because it works so well on a defender (and you'll do truely nasty things to an AV).

I wouldn't sniff at an extra 50% global recharge, even with Hasten...
I'm always happy to see another Kin on the team and there's always a slight chance they'll speed boost me too ;-D

Re-reading that it does look like I was being down on Kin/ but I wasn't as I did love them, they just didn't make me squee like Cold/, I would still rather have one than quite a few other AT's/sets.

I just always missed out on the glory of Fulcrum Shift

I was being "down" at them, but only because of particle effect / high speed / slow laptop issues. They outweigh the +recharge for me (also the main reason I stopped playing my Kin/Elec as well).

Agreed, there are some situations where even Siphon Speed is bad enough, so I wouldn't inflict SB on my poor teammates Speed aside though, the +damage of kinetics can speed a team up without, ya know, literally speeding them up.
