Enhancements for Ill/Emp troller

This is my first character, bit of a noob on technical details. I've got me Ill/Emp troller to lvl47 and started filling up with lvl 50 enhancements. There are a number of areas I'm unsure of and would appreciate feedback.

1) Is Phantasm a recharge intensive pet? It doesn't appear to use any endurance, I don't know how to enhance it. A pet damage set?

2) What should I do with AB and the RA's? The sets available offer useless accuracy buffs. All i really want is to speed up the recharge since they seem as powerful as they need to be - so far I've never seen anyone buffed with AB run out of Endurance. But I'm under the impression that multiple enhancements of the same type give diminishing returns so slotting AB and RA with 6 recharge reductions would be inefficient.

All advice to slotting any aspect of Ill/Emp would be welcome.

I didn't play an empath but for your heals Doctored Wounds is a cheap and good set. If you want more recharge in your RAs simply put 2-3 recharge IOs on them.

For Phantasm, i don't think any need to slot a recharge on him. Acc and Damage is way to go i think. As i don't like pets IO sets i never really looked at them but their bonuses usually crappy in my opinion.

Glimp of the Abyss is a good set to slot in Spectral Terror. 3 recharge, 2 Acc and 1 Dmg IOs are what i use for Phantom Army. Blind is better with 2 Acc, 1/2 hold, 2 recharge IOs and if you like procs put Lockdown +2 mag hold enhancement to it instead of one hold. Superior invisibility is good with only one End. Rdx. enhancement for me. Over all i don't think Illusion as a set friendly set as my Mind trollers. You can use Preplex or Malaise on decieve depending on your need (Preplex gives +Acc for 4 slots, Malaise gives +Dmg and +Recharge for 5 slots).

1) Nah the Phant is a perma pet, once you summon him he hangs around till you zone. So slot it with a pet damadge set, use Blood Mandate if your strapped for cash, Soulbound Allegiance if you have spare.

2) My illu emp has those 3 powers slotted like this

Rec Aura ::: Efficacy Adaptor - EndMod, Efficacy Adaptor - EndMod/Recharge, Performance Shifter - EndMod/Recharge, Recharge Reduction IO

Reg Aura ::: Regenerative Tissue - Heal/Endurance, Regenerative Tissue - Endurance/Recharge, Regenerative Tissue - Heal/Recharge, Regenerative Tissue - Heal/Endurance/Recharge, Recharge Reduction IO

Ad Boost ::: Numina's Convalescence - Heal/Endurance, Numina's Convalescence - Heal/Recharge, Numina's Convalescence - Heal/Endurance/Recharge, Numina's Convalescence - Heal, Efficacy Adaptor - EndMod/Recharge, Efficacy Adaptor - EndMod/Accuracy/Recharge

6 Doc'Wounds would probably be better for Reg Aura, but my illu/emp is PvP specced so is min-maxxing on HP bonuses

Hope thats what you were looking for

EDIT: Ill tone down the Empath side, drop phase and pickup some illu powers from my original build and do you a PvE illu/Emp build if you like.

Thanks very much, that advice is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. I did indeed slot Blood Mandate for Phantom Army and Glimpse of the Abyss for Spectral Terror. I'll get on with planning my other slots based around the tips I've taken here

I also slotted Deceive with Malaise's Illusions. Which might make me a silly sausage seeing as I should concentrate on my support powers but I just love deceive. However I only went with 5/6 of the set because the last one gives a chance to inflict Psi damage.
Now for me the great thing about Deceive is the no-aggro aspect; standing back cackling while baddies beat each other up. Any idea if this damage bonus would ruin my fun by causing aggro?

I'd certainly be interested in seeing PvE builds

Umm i am not really sure about that. People told me in game any kind of proc (Malaise Damage proc, -recharge proc from that sleep set etc.) cause aggro in non aggro powers. Funny thing is i have both procs on Psy-knight's AoE sleep and confuse powers and never realized they cause aggro. On Araf (Mind/Kin) that sleep proc caused too much aggro for my taste and i swapped it to Mesmerize.

So better safe than sorry, no need to slot that damage proc to Decive or Confuse. It's damage ain't that high anyway. You can put damage proc in Spectral Terror tho, as far as i know it causes aggro and auto hit, so a damage proc smells tasty.

Much obliged Knightly, I agree about Deceive. I'll probably slot some accuracy instead of the damage proc.

This is more a build to show possible ways to gain some recharge and stuff without costing too much:

Th ri pet sets are quite cheap now but will be more expensive in i14 when supply goes down due to them being fixed.

I don't have this combination, which means producing a build with slotting ideas doesn't show what any of my character plans look like.

I took TRTs and gave it some 10mins adapting. If I've put too many bonuses that are the same pls say, I did look. But this looks fine to me. Plenty of rechg bonuses, plenty of +heal bonuses and +hp as a means for +heal as well as +end and +end rec. TRTs build was a good build for me to put my own twist on.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
